Sure! Before the Pats were a consistently winning franchise, they had very few actual die-hard fans that gave a damn about them. They never went to games, and most couldn’t name more than 2-3 players on the roster unless they were mentioned in the national media more than twice.

Football wisdom? Well, since so many of you are insinuating that the Pats have already beaten the Giants in this upcoming game, and that the 5th ring is all but in the bag, I’m not going to bother attempting to educate you on the finer points of the game of football. If Belichick was the defensive coordinator when the Giants won Super Bowls in 1980s and Coughlin was the WR coach…who was the offensive coordinator?

Ray Handley was the OC in 1990 when the Giants won their 2nd SB (not sure before that). I only remember his name because it makes me shudder and gives me a sickly feeling all over. He acme the HC after Parcells retired, a true DARK ERA in NYG football.

Erhardt and Belichick were our coordinators until Parcells left. Handley didn’t hire an offensive coordinator when he got the job, remember? That’s partly why the team was so putrid offensively. Defense was still there, but remember LT also got hurt in ’92. Offense was only slightly better when Fassel got the OC job in ’92, but ROD “READ AND REACT” RUST had us playing some of the worst defense in Giants history (before Sheridan came along). It’s all still crystal clear to me all these years later. And I, like you, SHUDDER TO THINK about those post-Parcells years. A couple of blips on the radar under Reeves and Fassel, but that’s why Giants fans should appreciate Tom even more.

It was Ron Erhardt, and believe me, that fossil wouldn’t last two years in the NFL with his outdated philosophy. Our defense was just THAT GREAT that it masked how much he stifled Simms for so many years. It was maddening to watch.

Second, 50% of Brady’s success is Brady, but the other 50% is a line that gets to hold like crazy affording him 7 or 8 seconds to throw the ball. TB doesn’t like heat. He doesn’t respond well to it. He’s not used to seeing it. The Giants are a nightmare matchup for the Pats. They should be very apprehensive about this game….

2. Players, especially in the biggest markets, need to realize that the media is after stories. It will always be that way. Be very wary of what you say, be a great listener and don’t be anxious when asked multiple questions. Several members of this Giants team need a class regarding this. Give the media answers, but be very general and don’t give them anything to quote. Therefore if they do somehow quote you anyway, it will end up as a bad story about nothing.

3. As a Giants fan I like the way most of the Giants (don’t forget it’s a 53 man roster) are acting and how all of the Patriots are acting, and hopefully the Giants try to give the hungry media nothing to quote.

I would take these 2 clowns any day compared to Osi. The Pats Oline would manhandle these 2…really?? you bring up these 2 guys?? Take off the NYG glasses and see clearly dude…
