API’m typing from a mostly empty media center in Indianapolis, waiting for Sunday’s big arrival.
After Florio get here, the New England Patriots plane will land as well. Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and a handful of other Patriots will speak to the media this evening.
The Patriots got a big sendoff in Foxborough before they left. An estimated 25,000 fans showed up to Gillette Stadium for a rally that was highlighted by Wes Welker’s red slacks. Bill Belichick spoke, but his usual media gameplan was in place.
“Coach Belichick told us not to come out here and talk too long,” wideout Deion Branch said via Mike Rodak of ESPNBoston.com before exclaiming, “We’re going to the Super Bowl!”
Rodak’s comrade Mike Reiss noted that the Patriots have had a more relaxed attitude during this playoff run compared to previous years. That attitude has trickled down from Belichick, who has been relatively loose with the media.
“I wish I could take all you guys to Indy with us,” Tom Brady said. “We’re going down there, and we’re going down there for one reason. We’re going to give it our best and hopefully we have a lot more people at our party next weekend.”

No trash talking!
Its strictly business. Bring the Lombardi back to New England !
After the Giants win, will Tom Coughlin be labeled as a genius and the best coach in the league?
I mean, Belicheat is always referred to as a genius and the best coach in the game by the East Coast media.
If the Giants win again, then Coughlin is 2-0 against the “genius” in the Super Bowl so he should be labeled as a superior coach.
Likewise, Eli will be 2-0 against Tom Fraidy so he should be labeled as the superior QB. And Eli and the G-Men accomplished without cheating
Nice fan support! Go get ‘em boys!

genius coaches don’t lead their teams to 9-7 records, nor do 9-7 teams win superbowls…

I wonder if they stopped the presses for that newsflash?
Gee, thanks for the scoop, Captain Obvious…

What good did your “genius coach” do ya in their
last Super Bowl game VS the Giants?
The Patsys sure picked the wrong game to have
their only loss of that season, huh?
Brady said I wish we could take you all with us to indy, to which 25,000 pats fans said”indy? we’ll watch from home thanks”
Three shiney clean untainted trophies. And there is nothing you can do about it!
Maybe number 4?
Lots of nervous haters out there!
I see that the really intelligent posters are at it today.. It looks like that obnoxiousguy has pulled his head out of his momma’s butt long enough to spew his stupidity and quitsburgh is trying to give him a run for his money.. I guess their family trees don’t have many branches on them.
@quittsburghstoolers
he may have lost that game but he also won 3 other superbowls as a head coach and 2 a def. coordinator.
even “genius” coaches lose games. I’ll take the 3 other superbowl victories and a good chance at 4th over whatever coach coaches your team

if…if ..if..IF the world ends tomorrow… there’s no game..your point is moot..
..just play the damn game.& .then talk smack..IF it works out that way!!!
GO PATS!!!
I love how the haters keep trolling Patriots posts. It means we are still in their heads. 5 Super Bowls in 11 years losers. Keep hatin’, we just keep winning!
One thing about the Pats I think we can ALL agree on – they sure did write the book on ‘bland.’

Exactly! Welker’s red pants is exciting news? I wonder how many points that will be worth next Sunday?
Not bad for a fan base that has been derided by fans and media alike. Lost amid all of the Patriots bashing is that this is a young team jelling at the right time, just as Belichick coached teams had done in their heyday. We’ll see if that is enough one week from today. Go Pats!
Hope they enjoyed it. After the Giants destroy them in the Superbowl I wonder how many will greet them when they return. The 90% of the expert who are picking the Giants have finally gotten something right.
Brady’s last hurrah will end in dismal failure.
Just more proof that New Englanders have no lives.

Given that cousin-marrying is LEGAL in most of New England, chances are that many NE family trees don’t have branches on them either, hypocritical moron.

More like Patsie fans are just afraid that they are going to get serious beatdowns if they run their mouths in Indy.
