And I personally never wish injury upon any players. Now when they happen, I have been quoted as saying, “Hmm. Looks pretty nasty. I hope he takes ALL the time necessary to recover. Yeah. He shouldn’t rush to get back. Wouldn’t want that bother him in later life.”

I’m having a hard time understanding why Tomlin didn’t have the faith in his backup QB’s and let Ben recover for the last couple of regular season games before the playoffs. People forget, they got to the Super Bowl last year and Ben didn’t even play in their first four games.

None of us is naive. We all know at least some football players target opponents’ injuries because this season we heard injured players complain about how some guys went for their injured ligaments in pileups. But it’s not universal. If it were, we’d hear about it more often. No one would ever be able to play with an injury and make it off the field without further damage–but they do. So not every player sets out to cripple their opponents. And you can root for your team without hoping to see good players suffer career-ending injuries.

I’m a Steelers fan, which means hating the Pats goes with the territory. But Brady is one of the greatest QBs in the history of the game. I could never wish for him, Welker, Gronkowski–or Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, or any rival player to suffer a career-ending injury. I love the game. That means it’s a privilege to watch players of that caliber. Sorry you don’t get it.

So there it is. New York City. The city that never sleeps. The city that leads the financial world. The city that has boundless resources and whose teams always play in front of a sold out, adoring throng.

How many of the professional sports league head quarters are in New York? How many sports does New York have multiple teams in when many cities lack a single team in any sport? New York, your teams should win every year. The parades should be endless And yet they don’t and the parades aren’t. Why is that?

And there you are. Saying, “Yeah. If we can hit him just right, we can knock him out of the game. Maybe end his career…Hey! Who cares? As long as we win.”

Whatever it takes. Regardless of who is harmed or how it ends, as long as we win. Right New York?

I’m sorry. We’re you under the impression that “randygnyc” was speaking for ALL Giants fans? Because he sure isn’t speaking for me! I for one want the Patriots as healthy as possible. That way, if the Giants win, there is no “If Gronk was healthy, we woulda…” discussion. If the Giants lose, then there is no dishonor in losing to a better team that was at full strength.

Please don’t paint with such a broad brush. I have seen some pretty scummy comments from Pats fans, but I assume that not all Pats fans feel the same way as those low brow individuals.

And besides, I honestly can’t wish for most guys in the NFL to get seriously injured. Maybe one or two of the Eagles, but that’s different…

I’m just saying what EVERY NFL player thinks under these circumstances. You’re fooling yourself if you think during roethlesbergers last game this season if every D lineman was hoping for a shot around his ankles.

I’m pulling for the Giants, but you’re a sorry representative for the team. If you can’t beat your opponent at full strength without trying to inflict injury, you don’t deserve to win.

You are insane right ??? Even if he is out there..he will have to be accounted for on every play and some plays by 2 defenders….. on the goaline if he is in the Giants will HAVE to cover him with 2 guys….

After watching SoundFX for the Ravens game, I figured Gronk would play just fine, because when he came back out after the injury to play he ran routes just fine and was open a few times. I’m sure he’s good.

Big Ben came back after high ankle sprain against browns but was not very mobile against the niners.

Unlike Ben gronk actually has to run and cut a lot. Not good…
