Giants quarterback Eli Manning gave a speech to his teammates last week about taking care of business, and in that speech he let his teammates know just how much it can hurt to lose a Super Bowl.

According to the New York Post, one of the subjects Manning broached was the bitter pill his brother Peyton had to swallow when the Colts lost Super Bowl XLIV to the Saints.

“I’ve never lost a Super Bowl,” Manning said. “I was with my brother when he lost one, and three months after that, that’s all he could talk about. We don’t want that feeling.”

In an interview with Bob Costas on Sunday night, Eli said he’s rooting for Peyton to get back on the field.

“I know Peyton’s going to do everything he can to rehab and get back,” Eli said. “He has a great desire to play football.”
