Hakeem Nicks will be “fine,” definitely will play

Lost in the focus on whether Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will play -- and whether he’ll be effective -- in Super Bowl XLVI is the fact that Giants receiver Hakeem Nick is nursing a shoulder injury suffered against the 49ers in the NFC title game.

Though Nicks returned, he didn’t practice last week and, like Gronkowski, Nicks has been given the 50-50 “questionable” designation for Sunday.

Per a league source, Nicks is expected to play. Though it’s unclear whether his range of motion will be limited, the source was optimistic that Nicks will be “fine.”

Regardless, Nicks wasn’t “fine” last week, because he didn’t practice at all.
