Time for me to post the Jim Mora “You think you know, but you really don’t know” speech, I see. Even AIkman, who should know better — and hinted at it partially — should know that he wasn’t BURNED by Davis, he got caught with his eyes on Smith.

Burned is when you’re playing MAN and get beat horribly. He had deep help, Rolle wasn’t burned, he just got caught flat footed looking into the backfield.

And how what he said (didn’t actually say) has anything to do with the Patriots is beyond me.

Outta town clowns (and Giants fans who complain about Rolle “talking too much,” despite co-hosting a radio show???) who feed their fanatical belief that what a player says somehow affects THEM as fans AND the outcome of the game are worse than any player who brags…

… or in this case, never did.

Speaking of taking after, why are we still hearing from 9ers fans, especially regarding anything to do with the Super Bowl? The article, if I am not mistaken, is about Rolle “rolleing” his mouth again. It didn’t mention anything remotely having to do with the 9ers or how they lost in the playoffs.

I don’t really know who’s worse, Rolle, who seem to not know what to say and when to say it, or 9ers fans still crying about Williams fumbles or Ginn not playing or, even worse, the so-called non-fumble. Get over it already, it’s been weeks. I guess the fan base, and I am not saying all of them, are taking after their coach when it comes to their attitude and sportsmanship.

Arrogant when you win (see Detroit vs SF) and you whine when you lose.

That being said–there is nothing wrong with a player speaking confidence that his team will win.

Side note–this site has this false idea that Patriots and their fans talk too much. Where did this come from? The Patriots themselves never say anything. New England fans are generally pretty reasonable too.

Even if they weren’t reasonable..it would be understandable with this decade of dominance.

Isn’t Rolle the same guy who, after they lost to Washington, said they would win 95 out of a 100 time they played them, then changed it to 99 out of 100, then they lost to Washington again?

For the Patriots all you hear is “Lee Evans dropped the game winner” “Cundiff missed the kick” “Flacco outplayed Brady” “Patriots cheated”. For the Giants all you hear “If Ted Ginn was playing” “Kyle Williams is Giants MVP” “Bradshaw non fumble was bad call” “Giants so lucky”.

Giants were looked at as a mediocre team, and Patriots are looked as one too. Giants for their record and regular season performance, Patriots because of who they’ve beaten. These two teams have enough to get motivated by. Talking about obtaining bulletin board material from Media Day is simply bull to me. Can’t wait for Sunday.

Rolle does have the makings of a leader, but he has things to work on. On the field he’s a very good hitter and tackler, plays the run well, and has made some plays against the pass whether it is defending passes, or good coverage. He can get caught out of position and looking at the QB or backfield, like what happened on Davis’ td. For a former CB he should be better in coverage even though of late he has been decent-solid with exception to that td.

Off the field he’s always been confident in his teams and himself. That’s very good, but he can also become arrogant and can have too much of a time talking. In Arizona it wasn’t noticed, but in this huge market it sure as hell will and has. He has shown some improvement, but he has work to do. The media views him as someone they can make 5-10 stories about each week. Hopefully he learns soon how to handle the media. It’s really him that’s the talker. There are a couple players every now and then, but Rolle is the main one.

Can we just call it what it is?

Either way, good luck on Sunday Giants, I’ll be rootin’ for the Pats, but either team has a good shot at this one.

The Giants weren’t denied against the 49ers.

Very true but Kyle Williams was also your MVP it was a very even fight overall but if not for butterfingers New York is sitting at home. Oh well, you win some you lose some. Good Luck
