Mathias Kiwanuka was not part of the last Giants Super Bowl run because he was on injured reserve. This time around, he’s not taking any chances as he gets prepared for the game.

He sat down with two of his former teammates Antonio Pierce and Kawika Mitchell last week to get their advice.

“The message that they had was, ‘You never know when it’s going to be your last game, so enjoy it and give it everything you’ve got,’” Kiwanuka said. “The opportunities don’t come around, so take advantage.”

Perhaps that why Kiwanuka feels like the Giants are ready to play. The former Giants wound up visiting the team’s locker room and were impressed with the team’s focus. Pierce and Mitchell stressed taking every possible moment this week to prepare.

“To come this far and have a letdown would be disastrous. So we’re focused on getting that win,” Kiwanuka said.
