MJD likes the Patriots

AP

We only have a few minutes to go before the Giants media session starts, so let’s get a quick post in.

PFT spoke to Maurice Jones-Drew, who is in town representing “OCNN.”  Although he wants to change the name to MJDTV.

We’ll write about his thoughts on the direction of the Jaguars later, but for now we’ll give you his game prediction: He likes the Patriots in a high scoring game.

“What they’ve done with some young guys, their undrafted free agents, that’s huge. They’ve done a great job coaching,” Jones-Drew said.

It’s almost like he reads PFT.

  1. I guess Pats fans are OK with MJD picking the Pats. Seems just a tad hypocritical since they blew up the comment board when Pollard picked the Giants.

Guess you could say the same thing about the Giants then, MJD.

Hypocritical? You’re the first commenter, nimrod – how could they be hypocritical if you’re the one who said it?

  4. You know for this guy to be the biggest star on the Jaguars team, he sure doesnt spend alot of time in the community making a connection with the fans…. especially in the urban areas. Wonder what his thoughts are on that…..

I respect the heck out of Coach Coughlin and have stuck up for him many a time, even here. That said, though he’s excellent I am not sure there is any other coach besides BB who could take the guys they have on D and help them become even an average scoring D. It’s also a testament to the type of players those guys are. Hard working, no nonsense character guys. It’s been awhile since the Pats have fielded a team with such a good bunch of guys LR wise.

Pollard did more than PICK the NYG, he helped them…unfortunately for us Pats fans.

    Giants 38 Pats 17

    Mark it down.

We won’t blow them out like that, but it will be something in the 31-17, 31-20 range.

  8. Gints fans gettin all defensive over a harmeless comment like that….HAHAHAHAHA, nervous much?

  9. @n0hopeleft – No offense, but if its a contest for who pulled more players off the garbage heap – BB wins this round. I’m not even sure why Giants fans would care about having that distinction… or being MJD’s pick.

    My original point was this:

Tom Coughlin very rarely plays rookies. This year, he has had to start 2 rookies LBs (Jones and Williams), and more rookies than I have ever seen play on a Giants squad have seen significant time. Additionally, 2 threats that have developed this year were Jake Ballard and Victor Cruz (both undrafted FAs last year). I was merely pointing out the fact that both teams have had to deal with playing guys that they, most likely, had NO INTENTION of playing this year.

I hope you’ll be kind enough to understand Patriot fans’ hatred of Pollard.

    MDJ PICKED THE PATRIOTS.

The title of the piece is MJD LIKES THE PATRIOTS.

He doesn’t even mention the Giants in HIS interview.

dissed, my friend, the crux of Patriots fans comments about Pollard had to do with the questionable way he plays the game. Its well known that he ranks third behind Harrison and Suh as one of the dirtiest players in the league. Apparently everyone figured that out but YOU.
    Well, at least you’re consistent.
