Comments on: Colts make hires to fill out coaching staff

Way to bury the lead.

One of the bigger stories last week was that the Keith Butler was first going to be the Colts DC and then that he wasn’t.

Now you post a story saying that the Colts had “filled out their coaching staff” and make no mention of the fact that there is no defensive coordinator listed AND the fact that there were other defensive hires probably indicating that Pagano may be leaning towards being his own DC.

I posted last week that it might be hard to get a big name DC to go there because it will always be percieved that Pagano is really leading the defense. Looks like maybe that’s the case.

Yes, who will be the defensive coordinator. And I’m not sure we need the same running backs coach – unless he is the only one who knows what happened to Delone Carter.

The Colts special teams have been a joke for years, despite having probably the best kicker in NFL history and a solid punter. Hopefully Maalouf can find players that will a) get the Colts the ball past the 14 yard line on kickoffs b) have a punt returner go more than 5 yards and c) prevent long returns when kicking/punting.
