Problem is, no team has 2-inch-tall receivers. lol

I for one think McNabb on the right team has 2 or 3 good seasons left in him. Key phrase is "the right team". The last two he played for were both imploding around him and I think he gets way too much credit for those offenses stinking up the field considering neither one got better without him (Redskins offense actually got worse) and neither teams offense was that good before he got their (he actually improved from Brett Favre in Minnesota).

I see it similar to Jeff Garcia. Garcia had two bad years playing for the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns but ended up helping the Eagles get to the Superbowl and playing well for the Buccaneers after that. Question....Did anyone play well QB'ing in Cleveland and Detroit in that time period? Answer is pretty obvious.

This is sad as McNabb is souring the rather impressive legacy he had from Philly. Someone pointed it out above but the idea that he only thinks he is good enough to start for three teams is a sad indictment on his place in the league right now.

Those who are trying to guess at those three teams need to reassess a little? Seattle and San Francisco keep getting thrown out there. Why would the 49ers, who came within a hair of making the Super Bowl (TM) "rebuild" with an over-the-hill QB when they have Alex Smith. Smith may not have been spectacular in his career so far but he looked far, far better than McNabb this year. Why would a team known for speed, aggressiveness, and youth sign a QB who is slow, lazy, and old?

And the Seahawks make even less sense. They parted ways last year with the franchise icon Matt Hasselbeck in an effort to get younger. Hasselbeck is far better right now than McNabb. Why would the Seahawks give up on their considerable youth movement to sign an old QB when they consciously chose last year to move away from an older QB?

Miami? They have many better options (Flynn, Manning, the current starting QB of whichever team Manning or Flynn goes to, etc.). Jacksonville? They just drafted a QB in the first round.

I wonder if one of those three teams on his "if the phone rings" list is the Eagles. McNabb is arguably an upgrade over Vince Young and clearly an upgrade over Mike Kafka. At least he knows the system, if nothing else. That said, I highly doubt that the Eagles would even consider it. Sometimes its best to leave the past in the past. After all, there's a reason why its the past.

@ Calbqb.. "And it’s not like he is saying he is still in his prime. He seems like he is being a realist. At least he isn’t being TO and saying, “I’ll be signed by an NFL team any day now…”

-----------------------------------------------

"He seems like he is being a realist", Really because he thinks he could help 3 teams but yet no teams thinks he can help them, that's why they haven't called. How is that being a realist?

And your second part is wrong as well because when he got relaeased he was interviewed that night and said he expected 31 teams to call him now that he was available and none of them called.

So please atleast have a clue what you are talking about before posting....thanks

The guy had 1 good receiver his entire career and that year he went to the Super Bowl. I’m from Dallas and a Cowboy fan. In his prime I hated when we played against him. That guy extended plays and made like 4 championship games. Is he a Hall of Famer…No, but we don’t have to disrespect or mock him. He had a nice career and we should at least give him some respect for what he was.

---------------------------------------------

STOP!! with he no weapons arguement. he had one of the top rated defense in the league the majority of his career, he played in a weaker conference and an even weaker division for the most as well. And a good qb makes his weapons better by NOT throwing the ball in the ground or over their head or out of reach. And wasn't Westbrook a pretty damn good weapon? While Brady & Manning where battling it out he got to face Shaun King, Jake Delholme & M. Vick in 3 out of his championship games and he lost to 2 of them..hahaha!! And if he had "no weapons" how come his team was the favorite in 4 out of the 5 championship games? Usually the team who is favored has better weapons, that's why they are the favorite. He is nothing but a CHOKER!! And he is a F'n clown, he always said he was a leader in Philly when in fact it was B-Dawk & Trotter who were the leaders of that team. he once said he didn't get involved in player contracts when it came to TO, yet he said publicly that the eagles should pay Westbrook, so that makes him a hypocrite as well. He lives he his own F'n world and nothing is really what he thinks it is, actually it's the opposite. If 3 teams need him how come they didn't call him? CAUSE HE STINKS!! And GOD!! Please don't let this clown get a broadcasting gig nationaly cause I will never watch that program. Please go retire

Wow why wouldn’t the dolphins grab him? Great backup plan if Peyton or Flynn falls through
--------------------------------------------------

Are you kidding me? Have you seen him play these past 2 years? I keep what we have, thank you (although I am hoping Miami does pursue a real starter at QB).

I used to support McNabb during his heyday with Philly, but he is done now. His performances over the past couple of years have been embarrassing to watch.

If Ross & Ireland bring him in, that will be the last straw and my Miami fandom goes on hold.

McPukey says, “A lot of people take a lot of things from this game,” he said. “They take away a Super Bowl ring, they take away an opportunity to play with Hall of Fame players. When I walk away from the game, I take a little bit of everything.”

Really? Wait, what? Where's YOUR ring, pal? You'll take missed opportunities, puking in the Super Bowl and NO RING!!!

I'm not entirely sure how all of you saying McNabb wasn't good are coming to your conclusions.

The guy is top 25 EVER in every major passing stat: Yards (17), TDs (22), Completions (14), Passer Rating (23)...

I guess if your logic is based on the premise that the only stat that counts is the number of SB rings then you might as well place guys like Dilfer ahead of McNabb and Marino. I am not a Philly fan at all, but I do give credit where credit is due, and this guy was great.

And it's not like he is saying he is still in his prime. He seems like he is being a realist. At least he isn't being TO and saying, "I'll be signed by an NFL team any day now..."

Not going to praise the guy and say he is a first ballot HOFer or he's the top 10 to ever play. Just trying to make a point to all the haters that this guy was the real deal.
