No doubt that he has doubts about Flacco, I don’t think Flacco will ever be top 5 but he can certainly get the job done with the right team around him. I don’t think Eli is ever going to be top 5 either but he is still (to use Flacco’s term) pretty damn good.

Still remains true that after the top 3 or 4 the rest are interchangeable. If your number 11 your not that far off from number 6 and the other way around. There may been 8-12 quarterbacks above Flacco on a ranking this year but the line between them is very thin.

By the end of the offseason they should have Joe, Rice, and Webb locked up long term with Jimmy, Ngata, Suggs, Pollard, Pitta (I Pitta the fool), Torry, Yanda, Leach, Oher staying on the right side, I feel pretty good about the future. Might be the best secondary in the NFL next year.

You changed your statement in your last post to make it true. There are 3 differant statements below.

Ravens WILL NOT go
Ravens CAN’T win

First is true, cannot argue that, it is fact
Second is debatable, It’s not easy to win it all and some of the greats never have. Considering that some of the greats have not I would say it’s possible that a guy who is “really good” or “above average” won’t.
Third is up for debate too but I would say the most logical answer is that it’s wrong. The final drive of the AFC title game proved to me that they CAN win with Joe…. that does not mean they will but there is hope and he does have the ability. He put the team in position to win and put the ball where it needed to be.

Your earlier statement which I think is wrong is that the Ravens CAN’T win with Joe. The AFC championship proved to me that they can, still to be determined if they will.

a. The Baltimore Ravens have made it to the Super Bowl with Joe Flacco as their QB.

b. The Baltimore Ravens have not made it to the Super Bowl with Joe Flacco as their QB.

You haven’t been proven right idiot. Now if you said that the Ravens haven’t made it to the Super Bowl with Flacco so far then yeah you would’ve been proven right. If you would’ve said the Ravens won’t make it to the Super Bowl this year then yes you would’ve been proven right. But in saying the Ravens won’t make it to the Super Bowl with Flacco you won’t be proven right until Flacco retires or goes to another team without having won a Super Bowl. Then you will have been proven right, but until that time you are just another jerk with an opinion no one cares about just like the rest of us.

Don’t you realize that he is right… I mean if Flacco isn’t 45-45 for 589 yards 6 TD’s and 0 INT’s in every game of his career then he is a bum.

He is the only starting QB in the NFL to ever miss an open target. Brady, Rogers, Brees… they never throw incomplete passes and they certainly have never thrown an INT. Not those guys.

I can take almost every game and look at plays that any player could have made differently. And it is a team game. My point was and still is, no one is selling Flacco as a top 5 QB. Not anyone who knows anything anyway. And I don’t put him nearly as good as your boy Ben. But even Ben misses a read, or underthrows a ball here and there? They all do. And I find it convenient you only point out Flacco’s misses (which is why i pointed to future HOFr Brady’s misses in the same game).

Dude, I guess you’re just railing on Flacco to be a lemming. I can respect a Steeler’s fan like Deb because she knows the game and respects the other teams without betraying her own. And she knows I am fair on the Steelers (almost all of the time – I know I am can be a jerk sometimes).

It takes a certain amount of maturity to respect other teams and players and still hate on them at the same time. Do I hate Ben, or Hines? Not personally but because they are on my team’s rival…off course I do. But I guaranty you I respect them. I get you hate the Ravens and their players. What? Phil Rivers has not yet led San Diego to a Super Bowl. Maybe the Chargers should just cut him loose. Yeah, not getting to a Super Bowl is a sure sign of mediocrity at the QB position. After all, getting to and winning Super Bowls is a piece of cake for an “elite” QB. Just ask Marino.

Exactly, also do these people think that San Diego is happy they let Drew Brees go after a few average years? (Don’t give me the shoulder injury they got Rivers and flirted with Manning aka made their move to get rid of Drew before the injury)

Wonder why Denver kept Elway around? Wonder why Buffalo kept putting that bum Jim Kelly out there? Arizona and St. Louis should have given up on Kurt Warner, that guy was a bum too! Not every great QB wins a Superbowl in their first 4 years, actually only 3 that I can thnk of off the top of my head have done it.

This is what you want from a QB

A guy you WILL make the playoffs
A guy you EXPECT to be competitive and win games in the playoffs
A guy you HOPE can win a championship

You can never EXPECT a championship there are to many other variables such as matchups, timing, injury, or just the team on the other side of the ball playing a great game.

Ask Jim Kelly if he is elite. Hall of fame QB, played on GREAT football teams, and never won a ring. Remember he was the losing QB in the biggest upset in superbowl history. (Belichecks defensive game plan from that game is in the hall of fame).

Troy Smith had accuracy and leadership skills? I would say that complaining to the media every week about the fact that your not starting even though you have shown the team no reason to trust you as a starter would not be leadership skills.

Has Sanchez won as many games as Flacco? No. Has he been to the playoffs as many times as Flacco? No. Has we won as many playoff games as Flacco? No. Has Sanchez had a better group of WRs throughout his career? Yes. Has he had a better O-Line? Yes. Has he had a better D? Besides this year the two D’s have been about equal. Sanchez has already thrown more INTs than Flacco and Flacco has been in the league a year longer. Sanchez and Flacco are completely different. When the Jets have lost in the playoffs its been because Sanchez has choked and lost the game for them. Flacco’s rookie year he choked, but he was a rookie. Every year since then when we’ve lost in the playoffs it’s because the whole team choked (2009 in Indy), or because of WRs dropped great passes (the past two years). The Jets lose because of Sanchez. The Ravens lose because the whole team plays awful or because WRs drop passes.

Flacco had some really nice throws in that game, and essentially led the team on a game-winning drive. But he was very inconsistent over the course of the game, like always.

The guy holds onto the ball too long, misses open receivers, and puts his team into tough spots. Then he’s “taking that next step” when he almost saves his team from a situation that he put them in in the first place.

It is utterly irrelevant what his stats have been his first four seasons. Is he the worst QB in the league ? No, is he elite? No . He is average at best and has ridden the back of one of the best defences for his four seasons.

The Flacco press conference where he makes the elite-qb claim was adorable. I guess he saw all the coverage Tebow was getting and thought that other mediocre QBs should get some too.
