Speaking of “holes in his game” listen to someone who’s not a Bengal’s fan- Dalton has to learn to beat a good team all your wins came against bad to mediocre teams….Cam went toe to tow with every team including GB…if anyone in CIN deserves ROY over Cam it’s AJ Green not Dalton.

when Cam is being argued on- production is production right? unless you care about wins.

Cam has the tools, but makes bad decisions and needs to work on his accuracy. We get it, you carolina folks are all pumped that after 1 year you are all wrong, and he turned out WAY better than you/we thought….take off the blinders and look at the argument from the perspective of someone who isn’t a Carolina fan- Cam has holes in his game, and doesn’t know how to win/close games out yet….yes he’s exciting, but FF stats aren’t what QB’s are measured on

Brees DID NOT have a better season statistically than Rodgers. They were about equal, that is why “wins” are a tie breaker for the MVP vote. Brees had more passing yards and a better completion percentage but Rodgers had a better passer rating. more TDs and less interceptions.

Cam was just flat out more spectacular than Dalton and broke significant records.

The NFC offensive line disgraced the NFC not Cam. The AFC defense stepped up their game in the second half to win more money and the NFC O-line kept playing flag football. Cam was hit and sacked. What other QB was hit and sacked. Even Rodgers defended Cam after the game and criticized his NFC teammates.

Dude is a rookie. HE did pretty well for a rookie. Let’s see what kind of work he puts in during the offseason. Film study is the number one thing tha twill make him better.

Peyton had games he would rather forget his first couple years too. We soon forget those 5 int games. But he got better in the offseason and in the film room. Now he knows what the defense is doing within two series and adjusts.

Poor decision making is a hallmark of young QBs like Newton. The best ones, like Manning, improve in that area with experience (he also threw more ints than TDs his rookie year). We’ll see if Newton does the same. And it just isn’t true that QBs with “wheels” who made bad decisions as rookies never pan out. Elway and Steve Young both fell into that category, and they turned out pretty durned well. The bottom line is that it’s way too early to judge just how good Newton will become, but based on his talent, his desire to improve and on the fact that he played exceptionally well for a rookie, his ceiling is extremely high.

The kid wants to be great. He works at it. He works hard at it. Give him a chance. He said he wanted to be an entertainer/an icon and the media came down on him hard. Tell me how you can do either of those things without succeeding on the field? The media and many of you were so quick to paint him as th enext JaMarcus Russell when Russell is not even worthy enough to look at Cam on the field or in practice.

I hope he succeeds, wins a ring and makes it to the HOF. See how all the haters feel about his disingenuous smile then.

Quit focusing on the records and start focusing more on how to win more consistently…

Probably the reason said things like he ‘did a poor job…’ and his season was just okay. Nothing wrong with finding out how the best qbs have done, and setting goals to surpass them. He is focused on winning and wants to be the best while he does it.

AFC players said they went hard after NFC did 2 onside kicks and a fake punt. NFC coaching decisions pissed them off and it cost the NFC players. AFC defense took it serious while the NFC was acting like AI at practice.

But Cam was awfully inaccurate when he did have time to throw as well.

I loved the way the AFC’s defense actually tried to sack Cam Newton (3 times) and brought constant pressure. Where was all that pressure when Rodgers or Brees was in? It was non-existent. I don’t know if they wanted to teach the rookie a lesson or the AFC just wanted the $50,000 more than the NFC O-line.

I love it. Even though he’ll probably never reach that goal, I wouldn’t be surprised if he came close, and it sure doesn’t hurt to try.

The pro bowl wasn’t his best showing, but it would have been nice if the rest of the NFC offense had adjusted to the AFC increased defensive intensity.

When was the last time you saw a QB have to run for his life in the pro bowl?
