Bills re-sign kicker Rian Lindell

Rian Lindell AP

Joe Buscaglia of WGR 550 in Buffalo reports that the Bills have agreed to terms with kicker Rian Lindell to an undisclosed contract.

Lindell was scheduled to hit free agency next month. The 35-year-old missed eight games due to a shoulder injury in 2011.

Lindell hit 13-of-15 field goal tries before the injury. He has been Buffalo’s kicker since 2003, and figures to retain the job in 2012.

UPDATE: Rodney McKissic of the Buffalo News reports that the deal is worth $3 million annually. The length of Lindell’s contract remains unknown.

And still………they have not negotiated with Johnson or Jackson ……the brothas…..we are not getting any closer to a Super Bowl

Very good kicker. Frankly with who replaced him, I have little faith on his replacement to fill his shoes when it comes time to evaluate other kickers.

    Championship!!!

Makes sense. The Bills probably understand the importance of a good kicker more than any team in history.

Bills really taking care of the white players first. Williams, Pears, Sanborn, and now Lindell. When you resign your long snapper and kicker before you negotiate with your best WR there has to be a reason. Maybe Ralph and the rest of the “good ol’ boys” are just waiting to see if Welker becomes available in Free Agency.

Fred Jackson has 1 year left on his contract, but what is taking so long with stevie?

    @rexachss

Jackson isn’t a FA … Stevie has got a lot of talent, but does he want high end #1 money? … if so let him walk … he hasn’t shown true #1 production …

Don’t get me wrong, would love to see Stevie back, but money needs to go to Def and OL

    Nice resign.

Not Worried about Jackson he is not a UFA.

Not worried about Johnson either worst case he will be tagged.

this is one of those signing that wont make many headlines but he clearly was a must sign. No this signing wont be championship material we would be worse off most likely with out him… and to the jack ass above who said about resigning the brothas? johnson ill agree with, but jackson has a year left and with the way CJ played the last month, Fred lost some leverage…..

will they keep the Bills name once they move to Toronto?

    Good kicker good move.

Dave Rayner was useless. The focus should be on Stevie now. As for Fred Jackson why? He’s at an age where running back careers end. Also they have Spiller.

  16. billsfan007 says: Feb 4, 2012 12:09 PM

what is wrong with you people? stevie johnson isnt a #1 receiver, toooooo many dropped passes when the game is on the line, and replacing jackson with spiller? jackson missed the last 5-6 games and was only about 70 yds shy of 1000. he could have easily finished the season leading the league

I guess I struck a nerve cause the moderators deleted me….but all I know is that if you want Buffalo to be a place for playmaking UFA’S to consider….change your reputation….that last one was Bryce Paup so he could play along side Bruce Smith….then when Bruce asked for more dough….they told him to hit the road and we have no playoff victories since!!!!!

Takeo Spikes…Nobody wants to go play for a team that 8-8 is a successful season.
