The first thing that needs to be considered is where Manning and Flynn end up. If Miami and Washington end up with these guys the price Seattle and Arizona would have to pay would be considerable and St Louis would end up with mid first round picks in 2012 and 2013. Cleveland could very easily end up with Griffin at 4. I think Fisher made a mistake by talking about this now.

It's funny gmen said were a loser team. We may be picking at 6 but we beat the giants twice by a combined score of 27. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we had a good year I just found that funny. Reminds me of antrelle rolle saying they could beat us 99 times out of 100...... But I hope the skins get RG3. This offense needs a franchise qb and a #1 reciever to compliment hankerson next year. It will probably take the 1st 2nd and 4th round picks plus a 3rd in 2013 draft

Cleveland is only two spots down. They will not give a bunch of choices to move up two spots. I doubt they would even offer their #4 and #22 for the Rams #2. Maybe their #4 and their 2nd round. Cleveland will not lose all their Julio Jones picks to move up 2 spots. The Ricky Williams days are over.

You understand that this is the Browns you are talking about, right? LOL

Why would someone trade up to #2 with the rams for Griffin when someone could trade up to #3 with the vikes?

btowngetsdown says:
Feb 3, 2012 3:15 PM
I think the Rams lost a little bit of trade leverage by stating they are not going to draft a QB. Now, the Vikings could trade down and someone could step into the 3rd slot for less of a king’s ransom, knowing that a QB will still be on the board (either Luck or Griffin-most likely Griffin).

Because if someone trades up to #3, someone else can still trade ahead of them with the Rams and snipe RGIII or Blackmon out from under them...

This draft looks like Stafford/Sanchez 2.0, not Manning/Leaf. The team who takes either of them isn't gonna be very good, and Griffin doesn't have the three-step-drop, quick-release thing down well enough to stay alive with a sieve for an offensive line. So, he'll run, and he'll get hurt (see Vick, Michael). The Newton comparison everyone is using is invalid, because Griffin is a much smaller guy and will take a lot more damage, and Carolina actually HAD some pro-level offensive linemen to block for Newton.

Truthfully, Stafford being injured for two years was prolly the best possible thing that could have happened in Detroit. They managed to piece together a usable offensive line by the time he was healthy and coached up enough to play. Andrew Luck is going to face that same kind of problem in Indy, just like Gabbert and Ponder did, last year. He's gonna be throwing short, off his back foot a lot, and he'll take some hits.

Griffin might succeed, but he's gonna have to survive til he has the tools and help to do it, and I don't think he's that close. He really looks more like Sanchez than anyone else, to me...much better than Leaf, but not a good enough passer to be more than a game manager to start with, and much less talented physically than Newton. Maybe a faster Joe Flacco?

Those saying for the team that wants RGIII to trade with Minnesota are stupid. Why make that trade when a team can still jump infront of you to get him? Then you've forked over multiple picks for the guy you weren't coveting.

St. Louis could also just draft RGIII and trade him like the Chargers did with Eli. This way they assure they get max value for him.

I can’t believe the stupidity of some people. The reason you trade with the Rams, if you want RGIII is, if you don’t someone else will. If you try to trade with Vikings instead of the Rams, you’ll draft right after the team that took RGIII.

I'll admit, rbirving nailed me on that one. Good point, he's right. He was quite hurtful though. I would have just preferred a "boom, roasted!" at the end.

You haters crack me up. From 1999 to 2008, Fisher guided the Titans to six playoff appearances - only two teams (Indianapolis and Philadelphia) have more appearances during that time. In fact, he presided over the most victorious and successful five-year period in the Oilers/Titans' 49-year history, between 1999 and 2003. His 147 career wins rank 21st in league history.

Maybe you guys need to take more breaks from fantasy football to enjoy the real thing.

Cue the “Fisher has only a .542 win % and is not a good coach blah blah blah” like every other article that has jeff fisher involved.

We get it. Get over it. Bring something new to the table.

Anyways, I’d like to see the rams take either blackmon or move down and get a bunch of picks because they need an o-line like nobody’s business…and corners..probably safety too…and outside linebackers..
===================

Ok, how about this- It doesn't matter that you have an over rated coach who has never been in charge of personnel decisions before because in 3-5 years you won't have a team anymore.

I like Jeff Fisher. and even though he's in my division now, I'd like to see him have some success. but if his track record is any indication, the Rams will be picking somewhere from 13th-20th every year until he gets canned. if I was a Rams fan, I'd rather be getting top picks than mired in mediocrity every year. at least he'd be right, I guess.

I think the Rams lost a little bit of trade leverage by stating they are not going to draft a QB. Now, the Vikings could trade down and someone could step into the 3rd slot for less of a king's ransom, knowing that a QB will still be on the board (either Luck or Griffin-most likely Griffin).
