Superbowl Baby!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the NFL was a running league in the 90s, we had Barry Sanders. Now that it’s a passing league we have Calvin. They may be the two greatest players to have ever played their respective positions.

And not a single Super Bowl appearance.
There are a lot of teams that can point to their past and say that this guy or that guy was one of the best ever.
Barry Sanders no longer plays football in Detroit just like Jim Brown no longer plays in Cleveland.

Sanders was great but why do you think he retired?
Was he washed up? No.
Did he feel that he accomplished everything that he could in the NFL and had nothing else to prove or play for? No.
He walked away because the team sucked and he knew they were not going to do what was necessary to get him a ring.
He did his part and got nothing.

Johnson has experienced a lot of losing in Detroit even though he was doing his part.
Do you believe that this is not in the back of his mind?
Can you really say that the Lions are going to be a playoff team again?
Are they the best team in the Division?
Are you sure that they are even the 2nd best team in the division?
Is the gap between the Lions and the Vikings that big if the Vikings can get even decent play from their QB?
He is going to get paid no matter where he plays and if the Lions fail to make the playoffs in 2012 then he just may say to hell with it and move on.

Per my previous comments as well as this article you can see the Ford’s have kept prices comparatively low (even with the price jump $35 for an NFL ticket in 2012???) and have not forced things (such as the 49ers are with their new stadium) like seat licenses and other ridiculous fee’s and restrictions.

In addition, Detroit never made fans purchase seat licenses when Ford Field was built. Seat licenses give fans the right to purchase season tickets when a new stadium is constructed.

For example, the San Francisco 49ers are building a $1.02 billion dollar stadium. According to The Sacramento Bee, about 9,000 club seats in the stadium’s lower bowl will require the purchase of a $20,000 to $30,000 stadium builder’s seat license. That does not include the normal price of season tickets.

First of all I don’t think they need any luck with this. No blackouts this season and I expect none next season even with this modest price increase.

Second, CJ will be a Lion for life. Bank on it.

This fails to mention other teams can and will still be announcing ticket price increases potentially dropping them even lower than 23rd or 24th….just saying never a fan of increasing prices but realistically these prices are still far cheaper for much better quality football than many many other franchises across the league.

Good luck with that one….And then try and resign Calvin? Yeah right.

If the Lions can sell out the stadium during a winless season, I think a 8% ticket increase for a winning team will go over just fine.
