The 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame class is announced later this afternoon, and we’ll have the information up on the site live from the press conference here in Indianapolis.
This is not a year with a lot of “slam dunk” picks, so it could be one of the most heated debates between the Hall of Fame selectors in a while.
John “Moon” Mullin of CSNChicago.com points out that the presence of two “contributors” former Giants coach Bill Parcells and former 49ers owner Eddie Debartalo Jr. could make the debate even tougher.
It’s hard to separate players and it’s even harder to compare a coach and an owner to players. We wonder if Parcells and DeBartolo are fighting over one spot.
While Parcells doesn’t seem like a lock to get in on his first try, we suspect he’d have the upper hand over DeBartolo.
