Please, don’t cry … look at us the poor lil pats we are getting picked on. Really makes you look childish.

But it is a major gaff, kind of funny, and fits in with the Giants’ egos this week. Priceless.

I, for one, am SO tired of New England bending and even breaking the rules that I am pulling for the Giants which is something no Broncos fan would ever consider.

Obviously this was just a mistake, we know this already NYG fans. We’re mostly laughing at it, not getting really offended. That said, football is a game of emotion and even though players rationally know it’s no big deal, I bet some do get a little more charged up over it. Players listen to music, etc. to get themselves in the right mindframe too. It’s just another thing like that.

OK, now I would like everyone to read this. So the Giants have been talking a lot of trash? I’m saying whoever says/said that is full of it. So I challenge ANYONE to show me 5 quotes at least of trash talk from the Giants for this Super Bowl. If they “can’t stop talking” then this should be very easy. I’m waiting. If that’s hard for some reason try the whole play-offs. I’ll be waiting.

Do you think they put the graphic designers, printers, and silk screeners to work after the final whistle, only to have finished products to hand out seconds later?

Both the Giants and Patriots, plus ESPN, NFL, SI, all the networks, etc. have graphics made for both teams ready to go with the click of a button. All the shirts, hats, posters, towels, and whatnot have already been made and are sitting around in boxes waiting for the outcome. The ones from the losing team get donated overseas.

You’ll notice right after the game that they’ll have a commercial saying, “Patriots/Giants fans, your team just won the Super Bowl! Spend money on championship stuff.” Do you think they wait until the game is over and scramble to have a commercial made in a minute and a half? They already have both of them made, then they air the one for the winner.

Every sports magazine and every newspaper in the country already have two front pages designed. All the graphics, commercials, and other paraphernalia has already been made and shipped out. Half will be used, half will be destroyed or donated.

What obviously happened here is that someone at the web site crew for Giants.com was supposed to FTP the files to a test server to make sure they would render properly, but instead FTPed the files to the live server.

Both teams have these graphics ready to go so they can put them up immediately following the game.

Duh.

Its called testing out their website in case they do win. They have to change it on notice if they win. I’m sure the patriots website has their images lined up to.

But as someone who runs a website for an organization, I never upload the page I am testing with the actual name the page will have when it is live. You always use something like ‘testindex’ or hell, use ‘avocado’ or ‘yabbadabbadoo’ or something and then just change the file name when the time comes. The point is, that way only you can see it until it is ready to go live because no one will have that url or filename bookmarked nor with they manually type it in. Basic website management 101.
