You don’t get to sack the QB on run plays. So according to your own stats, Smith only pass rushed 56 less plays than Miller and Miller had to drop back in pass coverage (meaning he had no chance to sack the QB) 68 more times than Smith. YOUR OWN STATS prove why Von Miller won the award.

Obviously, the same logic isn’t applied here.

Sacks are like home runs… compared to singles & doubles… Skins fan through & through, but he would of been 3rd in my book.

Can’t cover. Can’t stop the run. Can rush the qb like a demon when others are double teamed. Smith is a one trick pony. He does have a mean spin move and stunt though.

Aldon Smith has ZERO difficulty stopping the run. He played DE and sometimes even DT in College.

He only played in obvious passing downs because he is learning to play OLB. His issues aren’t against the run, they are dropping into coverage…and he got much better as the season went on. Including the playoffs, he had 16 sacks and countless pressures as a rookie primarily on passing down and playing little if at all in the first 2 or 3 weeks of the season.

Von Miller is a good player, but know of what you speak before you say something completely false.

In three years, when Aldon Smith is still putting up 15-18 sacks a year on a top defensive unit and Von Miller is still doing his best Julian Peterson impression, we’ll all know who this award really should have gone to.

Hire a driver, Aldon.

Too much is being made of Aldon not playing as many snaps. It’s sad that he’s penalized for playing on the best defense in the NFL.

His first NFL tackle caused a fumble.

Elway called him a once in a decade player and he played like it.
