Underwood turned down an interview request from ESPN but sent this TM to Ed Werner:

“I don’t want to be a distraction to the game or the New England Patriots…..i will say this, The New England Patriots are a GREAT Organization. I wish them nothing but the best today. This season has been dedicated to Myra Kraft (MHK) Mr Kraft’s wife….w/ that being said i hope they pull out the victory in honor of her & because the coaches & players have worked so hard this season for the opportunity to play in Super Bowl 46. Only guy that feels worse than Tiquan is Ross Ventrone. Of course this kind of thing is a great story 5 years down the road at SB VI when they ask him if he remembers the time ……………… At least they waited until after the team picture was taken with him in it. I think.

Agreed w/ bearokopoulos, Underwood probably wasn’t going to see one snap of the game today. Anyone complaining about Belichick making this move is looking for one more reason to hate on him. (as if they have to look hard!)

Hopefully 12 hours from now You all have one more HUGE reason to hate him.

Belichick makes moves that give his team the best chance to win. If there’s a 1% chance that he’ll need an extra lineman more than an extra wideout, he’s making this move….and that’s why he’s great.

@millertime30 – he’ll play as much as needed in a game where the Patriots will be working hard to pressure Manning and contain the rushing game. Any time played will be more than Underwood, who was expected to be inactive for today’s game regardless of being cut.

Belichick took away Underwood’s Super Bowl Sunday experience, something that Underwood is unlikely to ever get back.
