BB put Vinny Testaverde in the last game of the season just so he would have 12 straight years with a TD.

In Doug Flutie’s last career game, BB let him kick the only drop kick in the last 46 years.

BB regularly put LB Mike Vrabel in as a TE. Vrabel is the only player in NFL history to have 12 total receptions all for TDs.

BB never, ever bad mouths his opponents. He is the very definition of class and the consummate football professional. Every other coach in the NFL emulates him even if they don’t publicly say so.

There is little chance Underwood would have played, and they likely told him before yesterday that he wasn’t playing if not that he would be released.

He’ll be back with the Pats next year and if they win he’ll get a ring. There are far far worse things in life to go through.

I also have to think if this was the Giants or any other team doing this most of the people complaining here would have praised Coughlin for doing a hard thing that was needed to give his team a better chance to win.

Yeah, maybe in your team’s weak locker room.

The Patriots have seen lots of guys get cut this year and they keep buying in. They buy in because they have mental toughness, and they know it’s a business and things sometimes have to get done. Things that most teams are too scared to do.

I doubt this decision was reached at lunch Saturday. I’m certain that this scenario would have been discussed with Underwood prior to the announcement. Belichick consistently activates the 53 players who give the Patriots the best chance to win.
