I remember last year when people were screeming for his head after a 10-6 record. I remarked then that most teams make the playoffs with that record and a lot of fans would love to have this guy as a coach at 10-6. Now he wins another SB for the Giants. I am just wondering how soon they will be after his head again? Give the man credit as a coach as he knows how to get the most from what he has. I’m not a Giants fan, but congrats to them for another SB win.

Somebody above said there was no good luck involved in this victory for the Giants. Yes, there most certainly was. The Giants put the ball on the ground 3 times in this game and each time they did not lose possession. They lucked out there…. big time. However, that is just the way the ball bounces. They played a good game otherwise and made the plays in the end to win. Congrats to the NY Giants on their victory. I’m a Pats fan but I’m very happy for Tom Coughlin regardless.

Coughlin is a great coach… has been for a long time now. With experience he just keeps getting better.

If the Giants lose more than 2 games in a row next year, the dirt bags in the NY media will be calling for his head. Some things will never change.

Dan Patrick was classless after the Giants winning the Super Bowl asking owners about firing Coughlin. NBC should fire that whole Sunday Night Football pregame crew. Guys like Patrick think they are cute becasuse they have a national talk show on the radio. He produces one thing TALK and his was cheap at the trophy presentation.

I said before, and i don’t have a dog in this fight… But said it to packer fans… Because of their constant bragging that “we won last year”…. It doesn’t matter how you finish the prior year, it doesn’t matter how you do in the preseason, or during the season. When the playoffs start everyone is 0-0.. Giants are #1.. They just won the superbowl. Thier qb isn’t the best “statistically” in the league, but he’s darn good in the clutch… And i’ve said time and time again, this should take Coughlin off the “hot seat” i hope… He’s a darn good coach. One i would love for the Vikings to have. Congrats to the G-men and their fans. Hat’s off to a good game and a solid “team” win.. They can run the ball, pass the ball, and play some good, solid defense. It doesn’t matter “how” you get there. The fact is, they “got” there, and got the job done.

The Guy wins 2 superbowls by Bradys receivers not playing up to Brady’s level now all I hear is HOF for both the coach and the qb. That’s funny to me considering earlier in the season and last season you giant fans wanted them gone. That’s weird you usually don’t want to get rid of HOF coaches and qb. That’s right they barley won 2 superbowls against the worst ranked defense in the league. .. yeah sure they are HOF GUYS RIGHT THERE. Tired of these ignorant fans. I’m thrilled the Giants won but it had nothing to do with Couglin. His game plans are always way too conservative. In this case, the Patriots, namely Wes Welker, just choked and choked badly. Welker makes that catch, it’s game over.

Admittedly, I wanted Coughlin out this year/after this year based on his age alone. However, he coached this squad to an amazing season/finish with a terrible offensive coordinator and a defensive coordinator making a lot of questionable calls all season. Any previous complaints about the red faced grump, especially including my own, are heretofore, invalid. Well played TC.

The one playoff team the Giants manhandled — Atlanta — there was no mention of this, even though the officiating was slanted in their favor in THAT game.

The zebras cheated openly for Green Bay, San Francisco AND New England, and the Giants overcame all three. How in TARNATION do you conclude there was luck involved?

And yet, Coughlin’s Giants just won the Super Bowl. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember the Pats had a “perfect” season a few years back, until they got to the big game. Green Bay had an almost perfect season this year, and yet they watched tonight’s game from the comfort of homes.

It doesn’t matter what a team’s record is during the regular season. Obviously they got their mojo at the right time, and THAT, my friend, is what counts. Luck? I’m sure the Pats have benefitted from their fair share of that, too, as all teams have at one time or another.

Belichek might be a better coach overall than Coughlin, but he still hasn’t figured out a way to beat the Giants in the one game that counts.

Thats two games the Giants had to beat the refs and the other team this post season.
GB was pathetic, but this was nearly as bad.
Two third down horrible PI calls not made to stop two drives. And an out of no ware holding call to boot.

But they just keep playing. So level headed, so in the game. Great credit to the players the coach and the GM that built that team.

coughlin was also the gm in jacksonville as well, which means he not only coached them but built those teams as well.

flores was a fine coach. possible hof material. but please don’t embarrass yourself by comparing him to coughlin.

Jacksonville Jaguars, dumbest franchise ever. Coughlin should have been their Don Shula, but they fired him so they could get their hands on the underwhelming Jack Del Rio, who actually kept the job longer than Coughlin.

Coughlin’s teams were perennial Super Bowl champions just 3 or four years into their existence, while the Del Rio Jaguars were always seen as Junior varsity of the AFC, even those rare times when they did luck into good records..

Think they’d want a re-do?

I know this is about Coughlin, not Belichick, but I just saw Belichick’s post-game press conference and, let me say, this guy was pathetically condescending and arrogant to everyone. He simply refused to answer questions, just repeating the same words over and over, usually without even moving his lips. He may be a great coach but not much of a human being. Coughlin, however, gives every evidence of being a genuinely good person. Congrats to the Giants.
