I have been reading this site since it started, pretty much since the beginning. I will never understand why they remove some reader comments without any explanation. You pour your heart out after a SB loss, you try hard to keep from saying anything too nasty or inflammatory, and *poof* you check back a half hour later and your contribution to the discussion has mysteriously disappeared. It doesn't make sense when you read some of the insulting, pea-brained comments that people post here that don't get removed. The least they could do is shoot you an email and let you know what it was that they found offensive or unallowable. Whatever...

I ain’t a Pats fan (far from it) but folks in Boston giving Brady heat need to cram it. Without him they’re 5-11. They almost won a 4th SB with smoke and mirrors. Kudos.

A slice of reality from a Yankees fan. Don't worry, Dave, there's not that much "heat" in Boston for Brady. You are right on all counts, IMO.

Put Brady on the Jets, and they are in the SB this year.

I'm proud of this team, too. He's right on all counts. They fought hard in that game, and just came up a play (or bounce) short. Nothing to be angry about here.

Now, please get us some studs on defense, Bill. Every Pats fan new the game was over when the G-Men got the ball back down 2.

DAMN that was close!

Aw, that’s a shame.

Put it in proper perspective. It takes good teams with good luck to get to Super Bowls. Are you really saying that a team losing a Super Bowl is worse than a team that couldn't make it to the Super Bowl? Speaks volumes of the level of your intelligence.

Brady played just fine. A few errors by other players were killer at the worst possible time.

The one and only real mistake the team made was trying to run out the clock on their last drive before the final NY touhcdown drive.

When I saw them start running on that drive, I saw the rest of the game flash before my eyes: they CANNOT be trying to eat up the clock with a 2-POINT LEAD, can they? Good grief, they are!

They should have been passing all the way down the field on that drive, going for the dagger. How they could look at a 2-point lead and not see doom written all over it is beyond me. There's no protecting a lead like that; there's only expanding it.

Why shouldn’t he be? Patriots fans should be proud as well. #1 seed in the AFC, 3 SB wins, 5 SB appearances in the last decade or so? BB is a fantastic coach who really gets the most out of his players. He did a fantastic job with a lot of “no name” players this year.

There is no dishonor in losing a close one in the SB. 15 other AFC teams would be happy to switch places with you.

gcsuk, as a fellow giants fan, there are a whole lot of times i agree with what you say. however, this time i don't.
patriots fans should not be proud. the fact is, even though it gets swept under the rug by the national media and warranted a patronizing slap on the wrist from the nfl, belichik (and you're not going to convince me that brady didn't know what was going on) is a cheater and that is nothing to be proud of. i know you can't take away the fact that they had legitimate regular wins to get to the sb this time around (and in 42 for that matter) but i'm sorry, i can't get past 'spygate' until they get an asterisk next to the sb's they possibly won due to cheating.
i'm going to take it one step further and question brady's competence.
ask yourself this... would (insert nfl qb name here) be a much better qb if they knew what the defensive schemes/signals were prior to the snap because they had seen priviledged film of the opposing teams practices prior to games?
just sayin'

It was extremely unprobable that the Patriots would make it to the Super Bowl... Half their secondary was cut or injured and Belichick was able to bring a bunch of UFAs and rookies all the way to the Big Game.

Even Belichick's strategy to allow a TD to give the team a chance to win with 50 seconds left was impressive though I'm sure haters will twist this into an allegation of "cheating"

Fans of other teams may hate Belichick and the Pats but I have to think that free agents who want a shot at a ring won't forget that on average every other year for 10 years Belichick and Brady have had their team in the Super Bowl.

So let me get this straight, all you people like Rob Parker who bring up the fact that they haven't won anything since Spygate. Why is that relevant again? So you're saying they need to record the opposing teams signals to win the actual Super Bowl, even though they clearly didn't need them to win ten consecutive games before the Super Bowl? Do you see how ridiculous that sounds now? Do you even think it through before you say/post this nonsense?

Not a Pats fan, but I've always felt that the Patriots "cheating" was sort of like when colleges look the other way as their star players get cash and other benefits. Everyone probably did it, but no one outs the other. It is just easy to hate on the Pats for it since they've been such a dominant team for the last decade.

The other guys (Giants) can play a little ball too. They left a few other good teams in their wake. Beating Green Bay and San Francisco on the road made a believer out of me.

All I can say is "WOW" I love my Pats but I definetly did not see them making it to the superbowl with this squad, really looked like a rebuilding year. I know its upseting when your team loses the biggest game of all sports but they still made it to the Superbowl!!

For all you retards bringing up spygate, listen to what you are saying, you are bashing a team for making it to the superbowl twice in the last five years. Good god!!! most teams cant make the superbowl twice in 40 years.

I am proud to be a Pats fan, I know this team will only get better.

airraid77 says: Feb 6, 2012 3:50 PM

cheating would mean the pats shouldnt have gotten to the superbowl….remember they were caught cheating the 1st game of the year……NOT in the superbowl….and they got to the sb that year……….

The taping of other teams signals goes back (as far as we know) to the Super Bowl with the Rams and it continued until they got caught, years later.

Brady/Belicheater post season record before then - 12-2, since then - 4-3 with 2 SBs lost.

You figure it out.
