Probably cause leading the league in turnovers and costing your playoff caliber team (with a top ten defense) a playoff spot in a very winnable NFC playoff bracket had something to do with it.

The Giants’ defense also set a record. After giving up 400 points this year they are now the worst defense to ever win a Super Bowl.

Tuck, Osi and Company earned a seat at the Trent Dilfer table.

You couldn’t hold those defensive player’s jocks. You obviously know nothing about the Giants this year. They had over a dozen players on IR and most of them on defense. They lost 4 starting CB/DBs and had safeties playing corner, had rookies playing LB and CB. Tuck was playing hurt, Osi missed 4 games and they had to go sign a LB that was teaching before he came back to play.

They finally started to get healthy and the players actually played together during the end of the season and the Giants defense showed what it finally really could do the last 6 weeks of the season.

BRADY equals over-rated….Eli is also over rated.

Great team effort for giants against a pathetic NE defense.

While the defensive stats are not great, there was a lot of excellent defense played last night! Don’t forget, there were two great QBs out there and some excellent receivers.

Early on in his career, I kept ranting that Philip Rivers would win a Super Bowl long before Eli.

Well?

Looks like I was wrong!

Eli IS among the elite and nothing will ever take that away.

Way to go! Long may you run.

Brady= System QB. Cassel did well in there when he took over, so did Hoyer and Mallet in pre-season.

It’s set up for easy quick passes and he does a great job doing it. But, it’s more of a system IMO

Joe Montana was the same kind of player. You are deluding yourself to think that Brady is just a system QB, that dude is a real competitor. Eli Manning has won me over though. Way to step out that imposing shadow cast by your overrated Dad and Brother by being a winner! Congrats to the Giants and their fans. Congrats to the Patriots for a great season. I know what it’s like to be a dropped catch away from winning a big games.

I think Eli gets about 190yds, 1td, 5ints against the Bucs 2002 D — that’s an all time team.

Yeah, because when I think of all-time QBs, “Brad Johnson” is right at the top of my list.

Not a homer post AT ALL. How many points would Brad Johnson have put up against the 2002 TB defense? And remind the class how TB did this year.

Also the Pats now have to be looked at like the winning version of the Bills from those SB years. All their SB’s are close because they were never great — great teams demolish their opponents.

Just be honest for a moment and ask yourself how well would Tom Brady have played against that sorry NE defense? In other words stop giving so much credit to Eli, he’s a very good QB and does well when the game is on the line (at least against a bad defense) but he’s not an all-time great QB — your defense won that game for you. This isn’t a dis, I have nothing against Eli, I’m just shocked at how all the talk is about him and if he’s a HOF — how about one more season with a QB rating above 90 than below 70, for 2011/12 that’s pretty easy for even average QBs.

And just a few short years ago, Giant’s fans wanted to trade or cut Eli.

After YEARS of espn kissing the backside of Michael Vick, among others, Eli stands tall.
