Greg Jones has a flair for the dramatic

G. Jonesfumble AP

Giants linebacker Greg Jones pulled an Ian Johnson.

Johnson became famous for popping the question to his cheerleader girlfriend after Boise State’s Fiesta Bowl win a few years back. Jones quietly got down on one knee to ask his girlfriend to marry him amidst the confetti at Lucas Oil Stadium last night, according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.

“She was bawling,” Jones said. “I was like, ‘I don’t know how long she’s going to keep crying.’”

Jones said he didn’t need to say much.

“She definitely knows how I feel. A speech wasn’t even needed,” he said.

Congrats go out to Jones and his fiance, a former Michigan State basketball player and current model.

Also we send our regrets to any girlfriends on the Patriots that might have received a similar proposal if New England had held on to win.

I wonder if he would have proposed if the G-men lost that game? I bet not.

Good for the soon-to-be Joneses. Wasn’t as memorable of a game for him (playing-wise) as he would have liked, but he certainly did make the night one the couple will remember forever.
