--
There are parking lots right across the street to the north at the Port Authority, and across the street to the west on West 3rd St. What do you think they should do? Tear down the Science Center, the Rock Hall and/or fill in Lake Erie and build more parking lots?

Personally, I prefer to park up the hill from the stadium. Not only is it cheaper, I'd rather take a walk (where I'm often walking faster than traffic is moving) than sit in traffic.

Walk it off, pal. It won't hurt you.

This is a prime example of how unfair the advantage that the Packers have is to the rest of the NFL teams. The Packers can print worthless stock but other teams have to fight for money for stadium improvements etc. Other NFL teams aren't fly-over country and have other major league sports, Division 1 College Sports , theater, arts, schools, etc. etc. that compete for the discretionary dollars of the average fan. It's time the NFL quit coddling the Packers (on and off the field) and make them either step up and play by the same rules as the other 31 teams or make them move to someplace like L.A.

Cleveland's economy is pretty bad ( probably a huge understatement), and this is one of the reasons. The city owns too much property that should be privatized, and they spending money they don't have on maintaining it. Reason and Drew Carey even presented proposals ( don't laugh- he knows more about economics than the mayor and city council of Cleveland) to the city leaders about how revitalize the city, but they don't seem too interested in improving things.

The biggest idiocy of that stadium is that it has 0 parking. Yes, that is correct, the stadium itself has no parking lot. Dumb

There’s plenty of other parking around. Wait, you might have to walk a half a mile. Oh the horror!!!!!
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
I don't care about having to walk, though it does suck in blizzards. I think it's dumb that a facility like that has no on site parking. If it's such a great idea to do that then why don't all other cities do it that way? They don't, because it's dumb and fan unfriendly to offer NO option to park at the facility.

That stadium is such a boring dive. I can’t believe it is still fairly new. Progressive Field “The Jake” is a really nice baseball stadium. Dan Gilbert has done a great job renovating Quicken Loans Arena. But man, Cleveland got hosed with Browns Stadium.

I agree that the stadium is kind of bland, but they had a very limited amount of time and money to work with. They had to get it designed, approved,
materials procured, and built in less than 3 years. Oh yea, they had to tear down the old stadium as well.

“The questions is .. would anyone in Cleveland even notice??”

what are you talking about? they’ve sold out every single game since 1999, which is more than some teams that have actually had success can say.

That's because the team is so lousy that the visiting team fills up the stadium. Tickets are easy to buy and everything is reasonably priced. I bought 4 tickets in the 3rd row of the middle of the end zone for $400. Here in Pittsburgh, it costs $85 a seat up top.

No way every game has been sold out. There were tickets left on Ticketmaster on game day the only day I looked.

And I agree with the other person that it is bland to the max and Muni had character. You can have a nice stadium and put some good touches on it.
I say we pay more and put a dome on the stadium.

I do have a problem with the amount being paid out when the stadium naming rights still are not sold. The Browns would bring in more than enough to do ALL of their repairs with the naming rights.

“The questions is .. would anyone in Cleveland even notice??”

We come back every single year to watch OUR team. We are TRUE fans that will always cheer our team on. We are not band wagon jumpers or front runners like most of the fans in this league. We get our hearts broken every year, but we come back. The "factory of sadness" will be full of loyal fans every single season as it has been since 1999. Go root for the Giants since they just won the super bowl. GO BROWNS!

The questions is .. would anyone in Cleveland even notice??

---------------------------------------------------

Yeah. We would.

Contrary to popular belief, Cleveland is not inhabited by Neanderthals. This is a vibrant city that is working hard to overcome the shift away from an economy that built it. No longer a manufacturing city, we are finding our way and improving life as best we can. Still a ways to go but this is a great city to live and raise a family within.

Our history is proud. The Browns are one of the most illustrious franchises in the history of professional football. And yes, at the moment we are not exactly the team people would like to have here...but this is changing. We grumble, we groan, we sometimes complain loudly, but we also support our Browns like nobody else supports a team! Wait till the glory returns...this town will be electric. And you wont have to wait long. The seeds are planted, the shoots are sprouting, and with another strong draft and with a good showing in Free Agency, the Browns will suddenly catch your attention once again. And this time, the franchise is being built right, so the growth is just starting, but will bear fruit for years. You will see us soon in the post season, and in just a couple years it may be the Brownies you see at the dance.

The AFC North will be seen as the standard by which all other divisions are judged.

GO BROWNS!
