It was time to celebrate for the Giants and their fans today, at a ticker-tape parade in New York City and a rally at MetLife Stadium, where thousands of New Yorkers cheered, chanted “M.V.P.” for Eli Manning and generally enjoyed a Tuesday of playing hooky and basking in the reflected glory of their team.
Giants co-owner Steve Tisch took a couple of playful shots at Tom Brady and the Dallas Cowboys when he spoke at the stadium rally.
“Two nights ago over 111 million people saw the New York Giants cancel the Brady Bunch,” Tisch said.
“There’s a group down in Dallas who call themselves America’s Team,” Tisch added. “But these guys are America’s dream.”
The Giants weren’t the Dream Team heading into the season, but they’re where all 31 other teams want to be with the season now over.
