This will put new priorities into play for the Giant’s draft, free agency and trade options.

With both Beckum AND Ballard gone, the upgrade need for offensive line help, a running back, and a possible replacement for Osi will now have to share in the hunt for a quality TE or two.

Why not Visanthe Shiancoe? He’ll be a free agent and more than likely won’t be returning to the Vikings. Plus he is a former Giant. Seems to me that it would be a perfect fit.

I recall reading some posts yesterday that Ballard was being a drama queen while he was testing his knee on the sideline. I would venture to say 90% + of the posters here play fantasy football and also play with themselves. They have no clue when it comes to real football.

Wouldn’t mind Fleener, but doubt he’s around in the 2nd when we pick. Allen… eh. Seems like most/the rest of this years TE class are either receivers or blockers, and not both.

That’s why there should be a independent doctor on the sidelines. Colt McCoy and watching this kid try to perform for the team trainers and doctors on the sideline. They’ve seen hundreds of torn knees and had to know this kid was done. Then when he goes down, no one ran to his aide they were all watching the play on the field.

Ballard played a small but nevertheless critical role in the Giants even making it to the postseason. He had a knack for making damn near impossible catches at critical moments. Here’s hoping for a full and speedy recovery. You earned your ring, Jake, and then some. Wear it with pride.

At least it didn’t happen in pre-season. I bet if you asked every player in NFL would you take a torn ACL in a Super Bowl victory – most if not all would say yes…except Gronk Head – because how can you dance after you lose with a torn acl?

i guess fleener and allen just moved up several spots on the giants draft board. john carlson is also a possibility.

ballard and beckum probably wont be ready until mid-october at the earliest.

Even though I wanted the Pats to win it was heartbreaking to see Ballard on the sideline trying to run on that knee and hobbling in pain. He’s a true warrior for even trying to come back into the game. I respect his competitive spirit.

I am a Pats fan, but when they replayed him trying to make a cut on the sideline to get back in the game. I was feeling bad for him. Ballard is a soldier. hope he can recover from this.
