@siaaa They just made it to the Super Bowl and have won 29 games over last 2 seasons while a lot of the talent that made up the team thru 2007 has retired. Name another team that’s been so good for so long without falling below an elite level. The ’80s-90s 49ers are the only team I can think of and they didn’t have a salary cap.
----------------------------------------------------------
yes you're right, but the point I'm trying to make is that they've been losing games that they always won in the past. Maybe having a 31st ranked defense will get you to the super bowl in the declining AFC and on Brady's amazing talent but it will no longer win it. This team went 13-3 and was the number seed in the AFC and did not beat a single team over .500 the entire season. That has to be the first time thats ever happened in football.
The NFC is definitely on the rise and will be winning the super bowl for the next couple of years. All the X great AFC teams like Steelers, Pats, Colts, Ravens, are in a decline.
There are about 5 teams in the NFC that could have beaten the Pats in the Super Bowl this year.

Bill has been cutting or trading a lot of players that could have helped him win a super bowl. Richard Seymour was his biggest mistake. he is still a beast and that’s exactly what that defense misses. what he did with Underwood was just plain heartless. the pats organization likes to bring up the 18 undrafted players even though they've had a ton of draft picks the last few years.
the genius is running out of juice. sooner or later these huge losses will take effect on him and force him to retire.
He doesnt seem as prepared as he always was for these big games. makes you really wonder about the video tape scandal.

@tepiii3 I realize that whether it was see how Ocho Cinco did in practice leading up to the game (me misseed the AFC Championship) or to hide their cards from the Giants as long as possible or whether it was to before deciding what receivers would dress, Belichick had his reason. He’s supposed to pick players to dress in the Super Bowl based on who has family in town? Underwood understood and handled it like a pro, and is still with the team. Get a clue.

You have to wonder if this is karma coming back to bite them. I totally understand the move from a business standpoint, but this was a pretty low thing to do to anyone for simply more depth on the D-Line IN CASE multiple players get injured. Hell, they should be more worried about a specialty position getting injured (like a long-snapper or punter or QB).

Oh well, karma goes around and comes around I guess.

His release was a paper move. He was going to be inactive and they needed his spot in the line-up for depth on the D-line with the possibility of players cramping in the dome. Underwood still got paid and would’ve been partying with the team had they won. Michael Wilbon and the others that screamed bloody murder werer too dumb to realize that.

You are to dumb to realize Wilbon's point. It wasn't the move, it was the timing. Belichick had to wait to the night before to cut him when all of Underwood's family were in town to see him. The so called "genius" coach couldn't figure he needed an extra DE in the two weeks leading up to the game. Get real

That’s why Brady has more than Eli. And a hotter wife.

Eli's wife Abby is pretty damn hot and wasn't used up by Leonardo Dicaprio!
