On top of that this isn’t the first time he has hurt it. If he takes one more good stinger to it, he may be done with football for good.

Not to mention when Gaither took over it was an obvious upgrade, the pressure on Rivers’ blind side stopped immediately.

McNeil is by all accounts a really good teammate and high character guy, but even before he got injured he was having a pretty bad season. Gaither was actually a huge upgrade (for this season at least).

Castillo has never earned his contract and they should part ways with him.

Spikes can still play at a high level (he led the team in tackles this year, and his veteran presence is something this defense badly needs to retain).

Other moves the Chargers should make are to re-sign Vincent Jackson, trade for LaRon Landry, and draft Courtney Upshaw.

That’s an interesting take, players always want to go for the injury guarantee cause that’s the thing they can’t control.

And guaranteeing an LT for skill poses no risk to the team – when was the last time a Pro-Bowl LT fell off the map? Not like a RB (Chris Johnson) or WR (too many to name) who can get a big contract and not really live up to it.
