Let me put it another way bobwheel, if Brady had Cruz, Manningham, and Nicks we would be talking about Brady's 4th SB ring. I love Welker, and I agree that Brady's players made plays all year to get them there, but I said when the stage was the biggest his playmakers disappeared. Put Branch, Welker, and Ochocinco on the Giants and tell me how good Eli Manning would be...

Eli is a top 100 player but I don't think he is even close to being in the top 20 or 30 to be honest. If you look at what he has done, it really isn't that impressive. A Superbowl win or two doesn't make you elite, is everyone else on the team elite that won the two bowls? Elite has Eli's letters in it but he has a long way to go to get to be on that list..

if he had ANY other last name than manning, he would be considered a top 5 QB

Who on this list of 8 is he better than?
Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees
Joe Flacco
Matt Ryan
Phillip Rivers
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Ben Roethlisberger

And I can make an argument that these 5 quarterbacks are better and/or have more potential as well:
Jay Cutler
Mark Sanchez
Michael Vick
Josh Freeman
Sam Bradford

Top 5 QB? He’s not even top 10.

---------

I would say he's easily better than Flacco, Ryan, Cutler, Sanchez (SANCHEZ????), Freeman, and Bradford. And I LOL at you even mentioning these guys as better QBs than Eli. I'd also say he's better than Vick and Rivers. He's definitely in the mix with Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, and Rivers.
I have Eli ranked #1 at QB.

I saw Rodgers in the playoffs this year and Eli was better. Rodgers was in his own backyard too. Brees seems like an indoor only guy to me. Eli ahead of Brady is easy for me because he cant beat Eli. I dont have Big Ben ranked in my top 5. Nowhere near as durable as Eli.

As a Giant fan, we will all be looking back in 15 years and be saying "Gosh I wish we still had Eli". Not just for his play on the field, but how he has handled New York For all the criticism this guy has received, there isnt a single QB who could have handled it any better. His attitude is perfect for NY, list like this one don't matter to Eli. What a class act he is, and so is his head coach....two guys who really never call attention to themselves. It is extremely refreshing to see.

kya_tropic_fan says: "Not an Eli basher or a Brady apologist, but the problem with “Brady of today” is he doesnt have anyone who makes a clutch play on his team (offense or defense)."

I respect your opinion, but in my opinion, Brady's teammates made clutch plays all year long just to get him and his team to the Super Bowl. Brady simply does not perform at the same level consistently that he used to. You could also use your logic to say that many of Eli's 25 interceptions in 2010 were a result of his receivers not holding on to the ball.

If you're objectively judging their respective performances in the present, Eli wins.

And going by history I bet Giants fans will want to trade him next year... along with their coach. LOL.

I hope Eli gets another ring to go with his current two rings.

Big Ben is a joke to be in the top 5. He hides behind a defense that only gives up 13 points a game. The AFC North is historically awful.

In three super bowls he hasn't even been the best QB on the field. His WRs were named MVP of the game. That tells you how bad his performance must have been in those games.

I have said this before but - that top 100 list was one of the dumbest lists i have ever seen regarding a professional sport - come on now - JOSH FREEMAN? VICK? MCNABB?

I have said this before but – that top 100 list was one of the dumbest lists i have ever seen regarding a professional sport – come on now – JOSH FREEMAN? VICK? MCNABB? FLACCO? not to mention probably 80 other players that have no business even being in the same sentence as eli manning(even before the sb 4 days ago) – that list was such a joke – eli is about on par with rothlisberger – and behind rogers(1 sb ring btw), brees( again – 1 sb ring) and brady – if you are objective, you really can’ put any other qb’s ahead him.

OK, I’ll get it started. He’s better than Ben and the Brady of today. Of course, I’d still rank him behind Rogers and Brees.

Not an Eli basher or a Brady apologist, but the problem with "Brady of today" is he doesnt have anyone who makes a clutch play on his team (offense or defense). Look back to the 3 SBs he won, there were countless players on the those teams that just made plays when plays needed to be made. But when you look at the SBs that Brady has lost, he has had no one make a play for him. In SB42 all Brady needed was Asante Samual to catch a ball the Manning put right into his hands, but he didnt make the play. In SB46 you can argue that the Welker drop late in the 4th quarter falls into the same category. When the lights are the brightest, and the moment is the biggest, Brady doesnt get help. In contrast, all Manning has to do is launch a pass down field and someone comes down with it. Brady doesnt have a David Tyree on his team. All Brady can do is throw a ball that is catchable, and he has done that in all 5 of his SBs, the difference between winning and losing is whether or not the person at the other end makes a play. With that being said, I think the top 4 in no particular order are Rodgers/Brees/Brady/Manning

"Here’s a prediction: Eli Manning ranks ahead of Donovan McNabb this year."
------------------------------------------------------------------
And ahead of "Matty Ice", Joe Flacco, Josh Freeman, etc...

Additionally he should be ahead of Peyton. Not that he has a better "body of work", but since it is players from 2011 only, I think Eli had the better year (but Peyton made a better commercial). Peyton technically can't even make the list.
