The holding call on Boothe was horrible. The Giants were set to score a minimum of three.

They won the turnover battle and dominated time of possesion.

The Giants playoff run was legendary.

A more realistic view is probably taking a slice of data like drives of 65+ yards with 45 to 75 seconds left. That’s not perfect, but it may be a bit more insightful.

I mean in Favre’s first game as a Packer he got the ball at the 8 yard line with 1:07 left and no timeouts. The Packers scored a TD with 14 seconds left. That’s probably a tougher scenario then what the Packers faced.

The Welker drop sealing the game couldn’t be more overblown. The play occurred with 4 minutes left. With a T.O. left and the 2 min warning, the Pats still needed another first down. If they run the ball to milk the clock, they likely would have kicked a FG with around 2 mins left. If they decided to throw for it to really ice the game, any incompletion would have stopped the clock and have given the Giants more time coming back. Any stop would have given the Giants the ball back with around 2 mins to play.

All true, but we will never know what the Patriots would have done with those extra 3 downs. A more accurate statement would be that a catch by Welker there would have drastically increased the Patriots’ chances of winning the game. The variables you mentioned make the drop less painful for me as a Pats fan though. It wasn’t like a 3rd down with 2 minutes left to officially ice it.

IN THE PAST 30 YEARs, a team needing to tavel 80 yards for a td to win a game with less than a minute has done it 2 TIMES. Twice. And one was with a hail mary.

2 times in 30 years. Us scoring put the pats in that position (assuming we could kick it in their endzone which it was obvious they’d take a knee to save time).

So I’ll take 2 times in 30 years over the chance of kicking a FG where several variables could alter the out come (snap, kick, block).

The holding was so clearly a joke that no official should ever have called it.
What about the two missed PI calls in the second quarter…did they talk about those.

Not funny that the officials have to rely on him to make the calls.

Also the part with the Patriots announcers after Brady’s second TD saying “Anyone still want to take Eli?”. Priceless.

Let’s not go overboard… Eli threw 1 TD against the 2nd worst statistical pass defense in the league this year. Should Brady have extended the lead and put the game out of reach in the 4th? Yes… but Brady walked off the field with the lead (for his 2nd straight Super Bowl) and watched his defense give up the lead only to get the ball back with under 60 secinds to go and 80 yards to cover…

We can go over career numbers, winning percentage, and Super Bowl rings if you’d like.

and for anyone calling bradshaw stupid go screw. i know it was 90 percent they make a field goal but it was 100 percent that they got 6. its showed what the giants felt of the pats offense. listen brady got 20 yards in 50 sec with a timeout.

Game might not have been that close if that bad call doesn’t get made.

DUDE–the only stupidity being underestimated is your own by you. On the 12 men on the field, Tuck can clearly be seen running off to the sideline, but he doesn’t make it. As for Bradshaw, he wasn’t told before the play not to score (though I think he should have been). It was only once the play started that Eli yelled at him not to score. Can’t blame him for that; only Coughlin for not thinking of it and deciding one way or another during the timeout.

But I think this NFL season the two best teams faced each other in the NFC divisional round of the playoffs. Saints and 49ers were the two best teams. Nothing left in the tank after that game, both of those teams left it on the field.

Look, I know Boston fans aren’t known for common sense, but think for one second in your life. If it was intentional, then why was Tuck running off the field with his helmet OFF right before the snap? If it was intentional, you LEAVE Tuck in to make sure NE CAN’T SCORE because you have the extra defender!!! Unbelievable that you assclowns can’t figure this out just by watching the replay! Besides, even if was intentional, and it clearly was not, your best defender openly admitted that the refs blew a call that would have blown the game open for NY. Be thankful the zebras kept your boys in it until the end.
