A bar employee alleges that Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga punched him in the face on Sunday. And that allegation was enough to get Maualuga cited for misdemeanor assault.
The Associated Press reports that Maualuga has officially been charged with the crime. His arraignment is set for February 17.
The last time Maualuga was charged with a crime, he quickly pleaded guilty. As MDS pointed out earlier today, Maualuga’s two-year probation for a 2010 DUI apparently ended only days before the latest incident.
The NFL fined Maualuga two game checks for the DUI guilty plea. He surely will be facing further scrutiny from the league now.
