Switching to a 3-4? Considering we have 4 good lineman and no good linebackers, and we don’t even have 4 draft picks, that sounds flat out idiotic.

Over and over, you say things that are so wrong, it’s hard to fathom someone actually saying them.

I’d be hard pressed to name someone here who knows less about football than you.

The players aren’t the same players. The old school players would reciprocate Mr. Davis’ trust in them by playing hard and smart. Today’s players might as well have come into camp with guns and wearing ski masks. Need we mention JaBustus Russell, who literally stole $32 million from the team?

I like McKenzie coming in and “cleaning out the stables”, if that’s what he’s going to do. It’s long overdue. The Raiders need football talent, not sprinters. Routt was an average talent Davis tried to make into an NFL starter by giving him a big check. Its ok to bring raw talent in and try to develop it, but if they show no signs of getting better, they need to move on. You don’t make a mistake by expanding it.

Al was a brilliant man and as much a warm heart as a calculated killer. However, as he got older he lost his edge. He didn’t have the insight or the energy to put in the hours these younger guys do. That is not a discredit to him. All of you saying that the Raiders died with Al are drama queens. Al’s legend lives on with that team…so you jokers jump ship….and in the same breath have the audacity to talk about how loyal Al was. Al would have shipped you sorry A holes out of Oakland. As for the rest of us logical and loyal Raider fans…we know that we have to send a message to the free loaders and be more fiscally responsible in order to build a functional team. Draft players, not combine stars. It is not an opinion that our players are overpaid, it’s fact when compared to their peers contracts. It’s not an opinion that the majority of our draft picks under perform or drop off the map. Just look at the rosters and the previous draft picks…and stats if you like.

I want our old Raider mystique back as bad as any fan on here, but it has been gone for a long time. The only reputation we have had for, at the very least the last decade, is that we are the dysfunctional idiots everyone laughs at and makes fun of. That is not an opinion either. You see it on ESPN, you see it when any analysts are talking about the Raiders. You read it in the papers. For god sake, I hate to hear it, but the whole rest of the world is not wrong. The best way to correct that is to admit you have a problem and then you start taking small steps to fix it. If we cut all that dead weight…I still think we are playoff contenders next year, honestly. In a few years, I see perennial division champs. This is the first time I have been this optimistic in a long time.

Never did agree with the HUGE salaries and LACK of play by our backfield. Regardless, I really don’t like to see the Raiders being dismantled, and I hope they use wisdom with the upcoming draft and free agency. We have, what I consider a Super Bowl calibur offense, so let’s get that defense where it needs to be. Take care all you loyal Raider Fans. Looking forward to be great season next year.

Reggie HAS TO cut salary ASAP because free agency is the ONLY way the Raiders are going to upgrade for 2012.

They had NO playmakers on defenses in 2011 and that has to be addressed ASAP.

Belichic was the Jets DEFENSIVE coordinator before being hired by the Patriots and Super Bowls and Playoffs are not logical when defining how good an NFL coach is?

I’m “lmfao” at you for failing to understand that Belichick is a former defensive coordinator with the Giants and then a defensive backs coach with the Jets. He’s dabbled on both sides of the ball, but he’s known for his work on defense.

So, if I were you, I’d ty really hard to NOT remember your first argument… because it’s terrible and dumb.

Can he lead men? Can he coach? Can he organize and direct a football team? These attributes are critical… not his specific mindset towards O or D.

Seriously… whether a coach has a Defensive or Offensive mindset has nothing to do with whether he is successful or not. There have been many, many extremely successful defensive HC's in the NFL.

This idea that cutting some of these guys will lead to a couple of lean years is ridiculous. The Raiders had the worst defense in the NFL this year and went 8-8. Cutting these guys sure isn’t going to make it any worse because it couldn’t get any worse.

Carson Palmer is due 12.5 mill which is reasonable for a starting QB and the rest of the offense is set and will return a unit that finished top ten in the league.

The defense was the problem and is being addressed. This is going to be a record year for FA’s and there will be some good players for the Raiders to sign at much more reasonable contracts.

I’m not necessarily a fan of “The Hoodie” but I certainly wouldn’t call him an idiot on Sundays. Then there’s Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh. Again, not a Steelers fan, but that’s a handful of SB trophies between the two of them.

Should I keep going?

A) Having to play in an antiquated system being led by inferior coaches. John Marshall from 2010 was decent enough, but he couldn’t overcome the man system Al demanded being run.

B) Their contracts. Again, can’t hold this against them… not a one of us here would have declined signing those bloated offers.

I’m hoping they will all step up and restructure. I think Curry was a steal, and could play very well in a 3/4.

Wimbley could also fill a 3/4 OLB role like the Texans Mario Williams did.

Kelly is probably is the best option for restructuring because he’s in the last years of his contract… and yes, the man can play.

I don’t like the thought of moving Huff to CB… but the guy balls at FS. The defense suffered when he got hurt, and he’s the best playmaker we have in the secondary.

Again, it’s not that these guys are slouches… they can all play and contribute at a high level. But they all must get on board with the new regime’s plan, and restructure. Every one of them are expendable… they can be replaced. Get on the McKenzie driven wagon, or get kicked off. Pretty much sums it up for me.

Nothing out of whack at all. When you sign that contract, it’s assumed that you are going to play well and contribute to the team’s success. So if you go out there and play at an all-pro level, then you’ve earned the contract you already received, so there is no need to ask for more money.

If you fail to contribute, then you’ve not earned your money and you get cut.

If players don’t like that, they could sign them all to minimum contracts and give them performance incentives, so then in any given year, you’d make only what your performance earns, but I don’t see any players lining up for that deal.
