Mike Sullivan to interview for Bucs coordinator job

The Bucs have been rebuffed a few times in their search for offensive coordinator. Now they are looking to the Super Bowl champion Giants for some help.

Rachel Nichols of ESPN reports that Giants quarterbacks coach Mike Sullivan is interviewing for Bucs coach Greg Schiano’s vacant offensive coordinator job in Tampa.

Sullivan was a receivers coach with the Giants for six years before coaching Eli Manning the last two seasons. He clearly did a nice job with Manning in 2011.

(Sullivan also has great taste. While researching this article on Manning, I spoke to Sullivan at the Super Bowl. He admitted he was a member of PFT Planet, like much of the Giants staff.)

Giants coach Tom Coughlin did not have to let Sullivan interview for the coordinator job, but it appears permission has been granted. Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt, for instance, blocked John McNulty from talking to Schiano.
