First of all, I have no respect for people that make
statements like that, as if you're condescending to enlighten everyone with your vast weath of FB knowledge the rest of us can only hope to understand. If you have an opinion, give it, you don't need to try to convince everyone of your FB acumen. My remarks on Taylor aren't just my opinion, but based on analysis from well known web sites the censors prob won't let me mention. TD passes allowed is only part of the story.

Second, your excuses about some corners not getting flags is just that, excuses. If they don't throw a flag, it's legal. If Revis seems to get some calls, which he does, it's becauswe he's earned his rep with his play. Also the 4 you mentioned are better than Taylor, and that's just in the AFC.

Your posts are hilarious. "until they get a 3 or 4 win season..."

This is the best front office in the league. The only teams that compare are the Pats and the Ravens.

Their worst season in 42 years has been 5-11, if I'm not mistaken. And that happened only once.

I read your line about no one outside Pitt thinking he's a great corner as a harsher criticism than you intended. As for FS, Ryan Clark is pretty good at that position. Obviously he's no Ed Reed, but he's a smart, savvy player. My only beef with Ryan is that he too often tends to lead with his helmet, but he's gotten better about it this year.

I'm excited to see what Myron Rolle can bring to the mix. He's certainly got the intellectual chops to pick up LeBeau's complex defensive schemes. I'd like to pick up a corner with a little more speed. But barring injury--or a return to Denver that would take Ryan out of play--our secondary should be okay. I'm most concerned, as always, about the o-line.

He allowed fewer TD receptions in the 2011 regular season than Revis allowed in one game against the Bills.

Taylor has awful hands, but he covers receivers LEGALLY, something that Revis and Haden can't do.

Hall and Joseph are probably the best in the game. Haden is 95% of Revis without all of the talk. He has a second set of rules, too, although he occasionally does get called for P.I., while Revis NEVER does.

Ike Taylor is better than every cb Pats have on their roster.

Because he is a hypocrite, just like all the other New England sports fans.

Just like you, loser Bozo. Are you a Steelers fan? Are you a Pats fan? Maybe you should stick to the board of your own team, who is... ??? You're too afraid to admit it. Vikings?

So that must make the 2010-2011 Packers the best team ever cause we beat the Stillers in the SB with 7 Starters on IR 4 more contributors on IR, Woodson, Shields, and Driver lost for the 2nd half and you guys never had the lead. We should have won by 3TD's but our WR's couldnt catch.

You mean kind of like how Denver didn’t have Brian Dawkins playing??
Or their RG Chris Kuper (one of the best in the league)
Or their leading WR Eric Decker for 3/4ths of the game??

Sick of hearing the excuses that they lost because of injury, Denver had just as many key injuries. Get over it.

Bronco aka tea bag lover,..
I see your Dawkins and raise you Clark,
I see your Kuper ( who the hell is that? ) and raise you Pouncey,
I see your WR Decker and raise you Mendenhall,
Tea Bag, I raise you a hobbled high ankle sprain Ben,
I also Raise you Keisel, Hampton, and Starks.

Say what you wish about injuries… if injuries are no excuse as to why a team does not play well, why would you mention the injuries on your team? I applaud your Broncos for winning the game, well done…however, with a healthy squad, I believe different outcome. Oh, and just ask the Colts about an injury not making a difference. Agree to dis-agree."

Sure he'd get offers. He's a pretty good player, not great. Aggressive, big hitter, good run stuffer, just ok in coverage. Is he worth 28mil? Not in my opinion. Although he is better than most of the Pats corners, I don't think he's worth the price and wouldn't want him. McCourty is saveable(All-PRO last yr), Arrington is cheap and underrated, and they drafted Ras-I-Dowling with the first pick in the 2nd round last yr and was on IR. They should all get better. A rookie and a cheap vet and I'm fine with that. They need a safety and more pass rush.

Dude is a top-10 corner and people rag on him wayyy too often. He had a single bad game. Granted, it was at the worst possible of times, but he played at a very high level all year and earned his contract.

Yes, he does not have the pretty CB stats, like INTs, but he is always near the top of the leagues in passes defended and tackles, which makes him a top-flight CB in the league.

INTs mean nothing if you can't cover, ask Anthony Henry.

Nobody outside of Pitts things Taylor’s a great cover corner. Trust me.
------------------------------------------------------
IF he went on the FA market I am CERTAIN he would get plenty of offers! I think you are just WISHING he was on your beloved Pat's team!

Yes, dear, we can tell Broncos fans hate the Steelers. Heaven knows, enough of them troll our threads to tell us. We might hate your team, too, but it's just not relevant enough to bother. We have more interesting rivalries. However, congratulations on that playoff win. Your team came up with a great game plan and did an excellent job executing it. Pity you're not better winners. But I guess you haven't had much recent practice.

@deb:
Never said Taylor sucked, just meant that 28mil for a 6.5/7 on a scale of 1-10 was a bit much. Also said they had to keep him, considering their situation at corner. That's all I said. I feel that corner(and FS) has been a weak spot for the steelers for years, and would be worse if the pass rush wasn't so good. Would never get down on a player for one bad play. It may stick out, but 1 play usually doesn't lose a game. Other factors involved against Denver.

Ike Taylor is one of the better cover corners in the league?? You're delusional. There are 2-3 b etter in your own division. Haden, Webb and Hall. Not to mention Revis,Joseph, Bailey etc. Vontae Hall. That's just the AFC. Off the top of my head.

Yeah, I'm a Pats fan and I'm all over those blogs. Just because this thread is about the steelers, doesn't mean it's an exclusive club(I have more than 1 tooth, ok if I still blog?). If Ike is better than all the CBs on the Pats roster(debatable), so what? It isn't saying much, and that wasn't the point anyway. But, since you brought it up, the difference is, I have some perspective on the Pat's players. Some of them aren't good. Difference is, steeler fans glorify their players , think they have 53 superstars and take it as a personal attack when someone points out their shortcomings. Nobody outside of Pitts things Taylor's a great cover corner. Trust me.

I had some issues with Ike in 2010, but he had a great season in 2011. He's not in the top tier of corners--meaning guys like Revis, Joseph, and Asomugha before the Eagles neutered him. But he's in the high second tier, and we were fortunate to keep him. Often good corners aren't seen or heard because opponents respect them enough not to throw in their direction.

Ike's one disastrous failure this year came against Denver, and even that was partly due to poor prep by our usually stellar defensive coaching staff. At least Ike was a man about taking responsibility for his mistakes.

Being candid, I'll never recover from the loss of Rod Woodson or think anyone else is good enough at the position. But Ike is still a tremendous asset to the team.

Maybe one of the most overrated corners in the league? Through 8 games you could count the number of receptions that he allowed on 2 hands.

He literally had one bad game all season and it just came at the wrong time.

Please don't make your fellow Ravens fans look so stupid with comments like that.

The Broncos has just as many injuries? Really?

The Steelers had more injuries than that on the offense alone. Ben was playing with a bum ankle, and Pouncey, Mendenhall, and Starks were all out of the game.

On defense, there was Woodley at 60%, no Ryan Clark, Casey Hampton, Brett Keisel, or Chris Hoke.

But I guess three players are more important than losing two of your best offensive lineman, your starting running back, starting safety, having no depth on the defensive line, having arguably your best linebacker at 60%, and your franchise QB hindered by a sprained ankle.

THE STEELERS LOST. GET OVER IT. THEY SHOULD HAVE DESTROYED THE DENVER SECONDARY BUT DIDN'T. MAYBE YOUR HERO BIG BEN SHOULDN'T HAVE PLAYED THE WEEK BEFORE AGAINST CLEVELAND

Funny. He was all fine and dandy for the pro bowl.

Can you tell, I HATE THE STEELERS?????
