Whether they are ignored or not does not effect the rating of opposing when throwing against them. If you actually look at the numbers you can see teams threw quite a bit at Taylor compared to other CBs in the league. Less so on Gamble. But when thrown against both CBs were outstanding.

The Steelers alreay have one of the best CBs in the league in Ike Taylor. Taylor was 4th best in QB rating on passes thrown against him. Holding opposing QBs to a 54.8 rating.

*Panthers starting CB Captain Munnerlyn was THE WORST starter at his position this year with 74% of the passes thrown his way going as completions. That is rediculous. And hes a midget, listed at 5’9″ but hes really like 5’7″. He has GOT TO GO.

You’re right, Routt did “blanket” the other teams receivers last year. He was on them so tight he was flagged a league leading 17 times. 17 times he gave the other team an automatic first down. He was personally responsible for extending drives that lead to points. He has always had a lot of flags thrown his way. He’s aggressive and it costs him and the team. He’s gotta play smarter.

Oh, his “burn rate” jumped significantly and he gave up a whopping 8 TD’s through the air too.

Not saying it didn’t surprise me, but I’m glad to see the scholarships are on the way out and the Raiders will be spending money more wisely. Routt is a decent corner, but not a $10 million per year corner.

The Raiders didn’t want to overpay and Routt gets to hit free agency early which means he gets another big signing bonus.

Lots of teams can use a starting CB, so expect him to establish the market.

led the league in cb penalties and passing touchdowns allowed. have fun breaking the bank for him. you’ll get more outta a 6th rounder for less.

mj i hope you didnt think this kid was “great” because one good break on the ball. look at the games – he has his back to the qb all the time.

his “look at my statistics” attitude also had to go. that crap is only for the cream of the crop and hes a reserve at best.

only reason he gets respect is hes simply a raider CB who has practiced nothing but man for years.
