The Rams can cross George Paton off the list of finalists for the position of General Manager.
The Vikings have announced that Paton decided Friday night to stay with the team, with a new title.
Specifically, Paton will be the team’s Assistant General Manager. “George has been an integral part of our personnel department since he arrived in 2007,” G.M. Rick Spielman said on Saturday. “His work ethic, leadership, professionalism and keen eye for identifying talented football players will continue to be a major asset for our organization as we take on the challenges of competing in the NFC North and winning the Super Bowl.”
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Paton was actually offered the job in St. Louis. Instead, he got a new title — and a hefty raise, we’re told — to stay put in purple.
As a result, it appears that Falcons director of player personnel Les Snead will be the Rams’ next G.M.
Yes! Awesome move by the Vikings.
thought it said peyton wont be heading to the rams.
Soooo, happy Omar Khan preferred to stay with the Steelers!!!! We need him now more than ever!!
I guess he wants to live in L.A.
I liked both, but Snead a little bit more.
Rams need to act quickly before he also decides he’s better off where he is.
RAMS fan here. Very skeptic right now. Our last GM came from the Atlanta Falcons organization. How’d that work out? Oh wait, we already know…..
Jim Thomas of the St. Louis PD is now tweeting that Snead and the Rams are talking contract.
Hope it’s true.
Must have taken alot of cash to keep him in the deflatable bubble….
Good, maybe he can get back to dealing with that Rommel guy in northern Africa.
Thank You FOOTBALL GODS because we all know how many great Super Bowl teams he has been the Architect of.
