Jackson’s hand was forced when the Eagles refused to talk about the contract situation. He didn’t say a word last year and was praised for the way he handled it and received…. nothing. Then the Eagles went out and signed a bunch of high priced and underperforming free agents without taking care of their own.

This year he held out briefly and was promised by the president that if he returned the contract would be addressed, but not during a holdout. What happened? Nothing. DeSean has been lied to several times by the Eagles and I don’t blame for getting out of Dodge ASAP. He has a QB made of glass and the coach will be fired anyways . Of course, DeSean’s behavoir the last season didn’t do him any favors.

hey dummy, Victor Cruz = DJax reincarnated. He is already crying for more money, after one decent year.

DeSean did many great things for our offense and I believe he can continue to do so. Franchising him was the smartest thing they could have done. No way you let him walk. Now they can look into trades for him, and if that doesn’t work out, he is going to bust his butt this year so he can get that fat contract he wants. Great move by the Eagles.

during his time with the eagles before 2011, desean was responsible for many of our wins. sure he deserves money if he can put W’s in our record. we missed him this year

The tag is good thing. As it opens the door to a trade. And if he doesnt get traded then it means his value wasnt high enough. So basically he gets one payday year and he will have to prove himself yet again.
The problem was the money before. Now hes gonna get about 13 mill. So maybe he will put forth full effort yet again and stretch the field like he used to.

The actual value of DeSean Jackson to the Eagles offense cannot be portrayed through statistics alone. While he nearly amassed 1000 yards, again, he should be credited with an assist for each yard that LeSean McCoy ran for this past season. His speed alone scares defenses, and ALWAYS draws a double team. Shady wouldn’t have been as productive if DeSean wasn’t drawing a safety out of the box each play. Obviously Shady had a great year, but DeSean’s impact on the OVERALL offense cannot be overlooked. Additionally, check out Brent Celek’s statistics this past year and realize that he was also a beneficiary from DeSean opening up the middle of the field. Simply put, he is very much needed for the Eagles offense to fly.

Andy Reid has been in Philly to long they should got rid of him a few years back with the Owens thing and also got rid of McNabb then they would have got a lot more for him then, coaches like Rob Ryan in Philadelphia would make a lot of sense a 3-4 defense and a power running game with a great qb like Michael Vick and you have a great team, and Rob Ryan can handle the press in Philly way better than Andy Reid has and will. Also they haven’t had a leader on defense since Brian Dawkins left and their defense is an average defense at best.

Smart decision for the Philadelphia Eagles. Give him his money but still leave the option of trading him. DeSean Jackson might not have had the stat heavy year they hoped for but he still gives that offense his presence and opposing defenses must account for him. You really think Brent Celek, Jason Avant, and Riley Cooper are threats? They get open only due to the threat of the deep ball and they reap the rewards.

This just makes life a little easier on the offence. Defenses will still place their safeties 20 yards deep to cover the deep ball. All this does is create space for tight-ends and rbs to recieve short passes and turn them into long gains. Shady will continue to have room in the running game in order to break long runs. All this team needs is a defense…

Not a top-10 WR, not even close. Not a franchise-tag worthy player, not even close. Philly already has a better all-around wide-out in Maclin (if he stays on the field) and he doens’t come with all the headaches. If you want to pay $9-10 for a 50 catch, decent return guy, pain in the ass, good luck with all that…

They use their heads when they should use their hearts in some matters – Dawkins, and use their hearts when they should use their heads, i.e., Castillo. The Eagles are a friggin mess and it’s really hard to tell where in that 13 year continuum of Reids career in Philly that happened, but after the SB the team seemed to steadily decline, with bad drafts, injured free agents and increasingly hiring coaches from within the staff, rather than getting a fresh point of view from outside the org.

Jackson made it clear last year. You can pay him but you can’t make him play unless he’s happy. He made it clear that the only thing that would make him happy is a long term contract.

He’ll be happy to take your money but get used to more alligator arms and him only running deep down the sideline while he refuses to go over the middle.

DeSean is one of the reasons this is a make or break season for Reid. How do you reward a guy who has done his best to sabotage the team because he wasn’t getting his way?

How many concussions has Desean had? The guy is a Top 5 receiver and game changer. He proved that over the 3 previous seasons risking multiple concussions. You all should be complaining about the Eagles not playing the man. It’s a 2 way street. Teams can’t cut underperforming players and demand players who have outperformed their contract honor a garbage 4 year 3 mill rookie deal. He’s easily worth 10 mill a year.

Y’all rather go after Reggie wayne or Vincent Jackson both old, especially Reggie Wayne then have a young rare talent like Jackson. He had a bad season and still almost got 1000yards receiving. Have y’all already forgot what djack have done the past seasons before this? He is young its not like he is declining he wanted to get paid who can blame him. Pro bowl player makin less this 1mil a year. Only way signing Reggie wayne or Vincent Jackson would make us better will b if djack is still on the team.
