I dunno- saw quite a few bucs games in 2011 and Ronde seemed to jump out of the TV screen to me.

He was in on most plays, breaking up lots of passes, and generally being a nuisance for the opposing offense- lookin like he was 26, not 36.

I’d love for Ronde to come back for another season but lets be real. The Bucs arent going to win another championship anytime soon. I’d rather see him go to a contender and come in and play the slot.
He’s still got some juice left. Does anybody remember the performance against jimmy graham in the first game? When peyton signs with the texans don’t be suprised if ronde goes there as well.

It’s hard to have a great year when all players around you are just bad.

Barber was the second best defensive player for the bucs behind Clayborn, he has a strong IQ Football, at least he will be a very good Nickelback which is almost a starter post against nowadays offense.

Since he’ll very likely never make as much money as he does now, if he’s feeling healthy and still plays competitively, he’d be shortsighted (like his brother) to walk away.

If Ronde comes back somebody better do a ID check or DNA on him. I can see TiKi trying to pass as him to play one more year. I’m not putting anything pass that guy. Going from media wonderboy to doing some blog in his in laws basement makes him desperate.

Tiki would be flabbergasted if their DNA was different. They are identical twins so DNA is the exact same. Finger prints on the other hand

To those that are saying Rondes play didn’t drop off, maybe you should watch the games before commenting.

I’ve never seen him play as slow as he did in 2011 (he wasn’t the fastest guy to begin with) and he led all CBs in the league for missed tackles (tackling was one of his strengths in years past) with 22 and no other CB came within 5 of that.

Ronde may be a Bucs legend that deserves all the love/respect the fans give him but based on last season he’s clearly done as a starting calibre CB.

As a Cowboys fan……”Jerruh” should sign this guy for 1-year and get him to teach the rest of the secondary how to actually play corner.

But of course, we’re talking about the GM with 1-playoff win in 16 years and the same guy who had 50 concussions…….

Not sure where you get your player reviews but Barber was the Bucs’ best corner last year, regardless of age. His play did NOT fall off and if Talib’s trial goes badly, Barber will be the best of a lot that includes E.J. (Toast) Biggars and Myron (Help!) Lewis. Mo Clairborne is looking good at #5!!!
