Manning will not retire and The Texans are one of the 4 best teams in the AFC. Who is the best...who ever gets the ball to bounce their way a few extra times. The only times I saw the Texans this year (3 times) they were the most balanced team I saw in the league. That doesn't make them the best, but they could be there next year as easy as anyone as they are that good.

Texans best team in AFC? LOL
The Ravens beat them twice including Schaub at QB by 15.

The Ravens do not want Manning. Flacco is one dropped pass from the SB (where are you Gisele?).

Manning will retire.

I would take Manning even at 75% in his current unknown condition over Schaub any day.
he wouldnt have to do a lot with johnson recieving and Foster running the ball. the defense is not so bad either.

BTW, I know it prob won't happen, but I would LOVE to see PM go to the Chiefs! My fav player comes to my fav team- what a dream! I'll use some arguments already on here. It's an average division in the AFC West, w/ the Chiefs having a great great chance to take it again this year. Chiefs are an up-and-coming team with a solid defense, great offensive weapons and proven coaches. Again, as this article dictates, just another thought to entertain that prob won't happen! I love me some football!

Folks, there's no need to get ya panties in a wad! This is merely infotainment to keep our football lovin' minds occupied until the next big NFL event. We are better than this- no need to dis one of the best QB's in the history of the game nor try to impress us with your football knowledge. It's just something to be entertained by and to think about. If Peyton goes to the Texans, I'll cheer for him. He's my favorite player. If he retires, good for him.
Peyton carried Jim Caldwell to a superbowl with an average oline/no running game/an okay defense.

If you hook him up with good coaches/great defense/good oline/awesome HB.... = SUPERBOWL

"His career playoff numbers don’t suck. Actually, his rating is slightly better than Tom Brady’s. Some people love to spew stuff and in reality, they haven’t a clue. Manning has never had a really good defense to help him out. That is Polians fault. Built a very unbalanced team. Last time I checked, football is a team sport. This isn’t golf, people."

Brady's played alot more playoff games than Manning has. And no, it's not Polian's fault. It's Peyton's. He's the one going for the max contract grab every time and having so much of the team's cap tied up in himself. The one time he did restructure.....it was for a whopping 4 mil in cap space. Way to sacrifice there Peyton.....lord knows you could've made it back in about 10 seconds doing a commercial.

It seems to me that the only way this would be possible is if the Texans dealt Schaub, which would be a major mistake given the questions surrounding Manning's arm.

But, simply as a fan of football, how could you not be pumped with even the idea of getting to see Manning throw to Johnson?

This is one of the best possible scenarios for Peyton. Go to a strong, up & coming team, with an awesome, physical defense, that just happens to play in what will probably be the worst division in football. Plus, he knows the division better than anyone.

And to all you Texans fans that say "We got Schaub!! We don't need Peyton!" ..........how many playoff games has he won??? How many times has he gotten them to the playoffs??? How many season's has he stayed healthy?? Thought so......Manning would instantly make them the team to beat in a declining AFC

Sure, the Texans would be a good place for him to land. But the "reporting" on these stories is laughable. Somebody at a Texas station just happens to have an anonymous friend tight enough with the Mannings to not only know he's interested in the Texans, but also that he's positively going to be released next month? How convenient. Maybe he also knows next week's winning lottery numbers.

Doubtful Manning himself knows for sure if he'll be released. Why would the Colts commit to that this far out when Luck could get into a car wreck or something else weird could happen in the interim?

Peyton does not make any team an "instant SB contender". Have a gander at his career playoff numbers. They suck. Not to mention the ignorance of this statement, no man should ever tell another man he should retire. Who the hell do you think you are? Honestly, all these internet TROLLS demanding Peyton Manning should retire. What an utter joke these message boards have become.

Not to mention the ignorance of this statement, no man should ever tell another man he should retire. Who the hell do you think you are? Honestly, all these internet TROLLS demanding Peyton Manning should retire. What an utter joke these message boards have become.

What I find interesting is the automatic assumption by sports commentators is that the instant Peyton joins a team; said team becomes a Super Bowl contender. The guy flat out shuts down in the playoffs. He has his entire career. Hell, the playoff run when they won the Super Bowl he wasn’t the primary reason for their win. Why does everyone quickly forget that the Colts defense all of a sudden became #1 against the run and this is the primary reason for their Super Bowl run. Peyton’s stats in 4 GAMES in the Colts Super Bowl run: 3 TD, 7 INT, 70.5 passer rating. His other playoff runs are in many cases even worse. You kidding me? All this would do is stunt Schaub’s growth and/or TJ Yates’.

__
Career playoff QB rating:

Peyton - 88.4
Brady - 86.0

Looks like Brady is the one who "shuts down" come playoff time. Take way that defense of the early 2000s and Brady isn't anything special come playoff time.

Not gonna happen. Texans have no cap room and Kubiak is loyal to a fault. Kubes brought in Schaub and unless Schaub's foot falls off, he'll be back as starter.
This sounds like a trial balloon being sent up by "Peyton's People". Manning's gonna have to settle. His "best" landing spot is Arizona. Enclosed stadium, great WR and a decent defense that could flourish if they consistently had a lead.

And I'm definitely interested in possibly hooking up w/ Kate Upton.
A deliberately vague and ambiguous statement, I would say.
The beauty of the Texans scenario is how well the defense played after losing Mario Williams for the season. The level of play didn't drop off at all and might've actually improved. If they let him walk they'll have the financial flexibility to do a lot.
Schaub has a Lis Frank injury and those can be tricky but in the end, its gonna be what the Texans want and not Peyton.

This is going overboard- Hey , I am a Manning supporter, I'd love to see him go and do well- Replace Matt Schaub? Manning in his prime- Schaub would fall off the map- Manning now? Please give me a frickin break. Should we also have Manning replace Matt Ryan? How about Philip Rivers? I truly believe that the Texans would be in the super bowl had it not been for Schaub getting hurt- We wouldn't even be talking about this. Talk about Washington, Miami, Seattle, hell , talk about Philly- but Houston? this is getting ludicrous
