The Lions have a lot of important areas to address in free agency, starting with defenders Cliff Avril, Stephen Tulloch, and Eric Wright.

They also need to secure their backup quarterback spot and it sounds like they’ll just keep the same backup they had last year.

The Lions have told Shaun Hill they want him back in Detroit, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Hill says he wants to be back and Birkett expects that to happen.

“I know I’m very happy here. I’m happy in my role here, and I’m happy where this franchise is going. All those things are very important to me,” Hill said.

Hill started ten games in 2010 when Matthew Stafford was hurt and played very well. He should get a top tier backup salary because there are plenty of teams that would be interested in adding Hill.
