Pittsburgh can use a back like Green-Ellis

He does seem like that type of player.

If this occurs to Belichick, which of course everything does, it may be a little extra incentive to bring him back.

Then again there are two young guys presumably ready to go. Good problem to have for a change.

Benny has been solid, and I hope he comes back. But seriously, what is his longest career rush with the Pats? Probably about 20 yards.

I guess lack of explosion, in his case, is made up for by reliability, lack of negative plays, and blocking ability (which ought to be a prized trait of any Pats player on O.)

I love the guy. Benny was hurt last year and I believe the only reason he wasn't used more was the dreaded Turf Toe.

Teammates say he works like a maniac at practice and in the offseason, and is single-minded in his pursuit of being the best he can possibly be.

That's a trait that's hard to find in some first-round picks, let alone an undrafted free agent.

"BB has that team some kind of screwed up. Seem to be no real team chemistry or identity"

"And if there is one thing this version of the Patriots lacked, it was obviously chemistry."

And how was that so obvious ? Love the confidence in your statement w/o any backing.

Fact is, it's widely known in NE that this team has heart and chemistry, much more so than in 09, and that both Kraft and Belichick really liked this team from that perspective.

@ Portnoy,

That's one of those bitter fans, who lives to post nonsense on all Pats posts. Sad little man.

I love Law Firm, and if he does find more money and greener pastures elsewhere I will wish him all the best. He's a class act and also will never embarrass any team off the field. I hope he stays though. I'm guessing Faulk is probably at the end of the line and they won't carry Polite next year or draft another RB on the first or second day so he has a decent chance of sticking if there's mutual interest.

BB has that team some kind of screwed up. Seem to be no real team chemistry or identity. I guess Pioli had a lot more to do with re-tooling while maintaining the team each year than he was given credit for. Bye bye little dynasty.

^^^^^^^^^^
I'm a Pats fan and the whole "dynasty" talk is pretty pointless. The Pats have the most wins of any team in the past 10 years and just played in another Superbowl WHILE rebuilding on the fly. As a fan of a sports team, I'll take that. The Pats are competitive every year and always in the hunt. There are plenty of other fans out there who would prefer that over knowing their team is out of the running every October. You can dislike the coach, QB, team concept all you want, but your post is beyond stupid.

BJGE ellis was a great pick up for the team. Pats will prob low-ball him, with two high draft picks at RB last yr they don't really need him. If someone offers more, good for him. If so, they'll prob add a cheap vet as well, some one like McGahee or RWillims last yr. They only carried a FB because they were banged up at OL. They usually only use a fullback(OL) on goaline situations. Faulk will retire.

This guy will be a great asset to any team he plays for… and god knows, he’s not gonna get a ring in New England.

You're right, he probably won't get "a" ring in New England....

Pass first team is going to carry four RB’s and a FB? Normally the Pats don’t carry the FB but they did down the stretch last season.

A bit strange…

--------------------

They had 5 RBs and a FB last year (Polite, Faulk, BJGE, Woodhead, Ridley, and Vereen).

I really hope he sticks around, because while he isn't much more than a system back, he's getting better every season he's been in NE. He never fumbles (literally).

.

No fumbles, but also no negative plays......an underrated statistic for a RB.

BB has that team some kind of screwed up. Seem to be no real team chemistry or identity. I guess Pioli had a lot more to do with re-tooling while maintaining the team each year than he was given credit for. Bye bye little dynasty.
