Alshon can be a very productive WR for many years. MM only said he wasnt worth a first round pick. AJ wont be a #1 WR for anyone and so maybe MM thinks he shouldnt go 1st round. I have watched AJ a ton and he catches absolutely everything close to him. He has already developed one of the best push offs in the history of D1 football so he should do great in the NFL. Also MM didnt say anything about Cam that everyone else wasnt saying. He had the tools but was concerned about the mental part of it and coming from a one read, shotgun offense.

Everybody hates on Mayock, yet nobody hates on the GM’s of NFL franchises for not doing a better job. Mayocks job is to rank prospects, it’s a GM’s job to guage whether or not the guy will work for their team and the coach to bring that out in the guy. 9 times out of 10 Mayock is right on with where guys go. As soon as the guy is drafted, Mayocks job is done.

This really means nothing, and Mayock even acknowledges that. If Jeffrey runs a soild 40 in Indy, he moves up the board. Also, Draft grade and draft projection are 2 completly diffrent things. Ryan Tannehill has a 3rd/4th rd grade, more than likely will be a top-20 pick. Mayock is the best in the Biz, I prefer a guy who is highly critical, then a guy who is on the love boat with a player.

I wish there was a way to figure out how often Mayock is right or wrong about a player. Give those Mock Draft guys a percentage, that way we at home have a better shot figuring these players out. Early knowledge of how well our team chose picks.

You can’t compare USC Mike Williams with Alshon Jeffrey because Williams was out of football for an entire year before getting drafted. Mayock’s “What those guys run at the combine,” statement is only true for the suckers that listen to him. Jeffrey will fall out of the 1st round, and some team will be lucky as hell. Mayock and Kiper are both dorks.

Well if Mayock says he isn’t then it pretty much means he will be elite. Blaine Gabbert, Jimmy Clausen, Jawalrus Russel, Matt Leinart, Mark Sanchez anyone? He also disliked Newton and Aaron Rodgers, Aldon Smith was a huge huge reach, and Crabtree was the draft steal of a lifetime. Jimmy Graham was a big target but a one trick pony that would struggle… Ok he kinda is, but he’s a badass one trick pony and certainly not struggling lol. Please sign the 49ers up for Jeffery at #30. Anyone else you don’t like Mayock? Please send that list to Trent Baalke so he can look like a genius. I’d rather take my chances with the guys he hates

LMAO!!!! 90% of this is made up, Yes Mayock was a Gabbert fan (and I’d say the jury is still out on him). Mayock however predicted the Clausen drop, said JaMarcus should not be drafted in the 1st round, that Jay Cutler was a better prospect than Matt Leinart, and never had any issues with Aaron Rodgers, nor did he say Aldon Smith was a “huge reach” considering he had him going at 12.

some of you people are rediculous with this Mayock hatred, just making sh*t up. Mayock is head and shoulders better than anyone you’ll see on ESPN or anywhere on the internet. In fact, Brian Billick even campaigned for a team to hire him, calling Mayock one of the best evaluators he’d been around.

if Jeffery does fall into round 2 and ends up in Indy, then that’s a good WR to get, and if they keep Wayne, Garcon and Dallas Clark, then Luck has some WRs to throw to.

I find it funny how people think Mayock is accurate with his assessments. Look back at his predictions and he is average at best, and he has had some terrible assessments. Lets look at 2009 for example:

Mayock spoke very highly of Stafford, saying he has great arm strength and is a good athlete, but also said “There are some things about him that bother me. If I was the Lions, I’d take (Aaron) Curry or one of those left tackles (Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe).

Seriously Mayock? Curry #1? Yeah, lets build a franchise around an overrated OLB from a smaller school. That’s real brilliant.

Who cares what Mayock thinks? Just like Kiper and McShay, he is sometimes right and he is sometimes wrong. Ill take Jeffery over every one of his other “first round grades” with the exception of Blackmon. How seriously can you take a guy who talks about how great Tommy Rees is every week.?

Matt Jones was on pace for 100 catches when he was busted and suspended the last four games before the Jags cut him. He had more catches than any of the guys drafted ahead of him in 2006, Edwards, Williamson, and Williams. Matt may still have more catches than Williamson and Williams, even though he has been out of the league for three years.

Also this picture looks off anyway. Melvin Ingram is 2 inches shorter yet appears taller and Taylor looks a LOT taller than 6’7″ when you look at 6’4″ Jeffery. Not saying he’s not out of shape, but until he works out at the combine and his pro day Mayock’s opinion is as legitimate as the Easter Bunny

It’s bad you’re in your mid thirties, haven’t run a mile in a decade or touched a weight in the same amount of time…period. Hopefully you do some sort of physical activity other than type your fingers on a keyboard and compare yourself to a soon-to-be NFL player
