I guess I owe you and every other Steelers fan an apology. You did not say “some” or “a few” Ravens fans made comments against the Steelers” cap issues, so I’m assuming you meant all Ravens fans did. Please cite one example where I did, so I can make the appropriate apology.
This site is informative, and I enjoy sensible conversations with knowledgeable fans of opposing teams. Some people just seem to have genuine hatred towards opposing teams and their fans. Sad.

the steelers or Bengals should consider signing him and giving up the two first round picks if they could work in into their salary cap … they each instantly get better and the ravens offense immediately gets even worse….that’s a win win for the bengals and steelers

Maybe the Ravens should do the same thing with Mike Wallace. It would only cost Baltimore 1 1st Rd pick because Wallace is only a RFA. It is totally worth it to give up the 28th pick in the draft for Wallace.

You absolutely give Flacco a long-term deal before Rice. Someone made an earlier. Who was the last great RB to win a superbowl? Marshal Faulk? 1999? Not to mention Chris Johnson & Adrian Peterson as exhibits A & B of what can happen after you commit BIG $ and multiple years to a RB. It’s not the way of this league anymore.

Why is it I have seen at least 10 stories on PFT about how stupid the Patriots are for not getting free agent Wes Welker signed to a new contract but this is the first story I have seen concerning Rice and the Ravens.

To the Giants and Pats fans out there…look elsewhere, it ain’t happening.

To Ravens fans…relax. Ngata got franchised and they went down to the last hour before the deal got done last year. Not an angry word was said by either side during the process.

To the Bears fan, you guys get grief because you’re cheap. The Ravens take care of the guys they want.

Flacco, Rice and Webb aren’t going ANYWHERE. If J. Johnson and McClain and the safeties leave its because Ozzie let them leave. Grubbs is the only one where we might be in a bind on.

How is this a good front office if they are looking to sign arun of the mill qb to a long term deal with a year still left on his contract and they dont seem to be nearly as worried with signing rice to somthin like a 3 year deal when he is about to be an FA?

Flacco whines about respect, Rice just plays hard and thanks the organization for an opportunity. The only thing Flacco has contributed to that fan base is a reason to wear a sweet fake fu manchu to games.

I know RB’s NFL lives are short but come on….Ray Rice is that entire offense. After every Ravens loss all I heard was how they lost because they didnt give Rice enough touches. Not because Flacco didnt have enough attempts, not because they didnt get the ball to Boldin and Smith…w/out Ray Rice they are a .500 team at best.

0% chance the giants get rice. Would I love it? Absoluetl but the giants are tight to the cap and need the money to adress other positions. Only free agent on their radar should be dqwell jackson. What a beast he would be on that team

How ironic the other day when Ravens fans were piling all over the Steelers front office about them getting their salary cap managed with the comments section on that article, that they suddenly are calm and resolute (or at least excited in a positive way) that ‘their’ front office knows what they’re doing. They do have a solid front office, thanks to Ozzie Newsome, but where’s the sense of reality and objectivity then when they were piling on the Steelers?

Are you seriously saying that a team will not trade a top 5 pick for Rice? Leaving out Luck and barring dire position needs, do you see anyone with even enough potential to achieve what rice has already achieved?

Ravens will never let him go… till he has got nothing left… that’s a life of star RB… always a struggle to get a contract and after 3-4 years, ppl start reading out the obituaries…

Pipe dreams. The Ravens aren’t about to let their best offensive player jump ship for an extra first round pick. Sure, it’d be tempting for the Patriots or Giants to consider trading for him, but Ozzie Newsome isn’t going to permit that.
