Kwame “false start” Harris for sure worst tackle to ever play like 8 years in the nfl but you forgot mike rumph and many others from the Dr. York days! Man doesnt it feels good to have the niners on top once again the bad years was worth it.

LOL at all of you talking about wanting to bring this guy back. Just answer one questions; why even though he had the best year of his career did he start the season as the #3 CB and only became the starter because of injury before getting hurt himself and then once healthy he never saw the field again. HE SUCKS!!! Cant wait to get rid of this waste of a roster spot.

I don’t see them getting anything, but no harm in trying. you never know who’s going to want to throw a draft pick at you these days. also as others have said, it’s a courtesy to Spencer, who won’t get released until they have a few more corners under contract for 2012.

IMO 8 seasons was 7 too many. I used to boo when this guy was introduced at games if that gives you any idea of what I think of him. Somehow and somewhere he pulled out a decent season last year but to no ones surprise he stank early in the year and then ‘became injured’ and never got back on the field.

Good riddance to bad rubbish! The only thing that will make this even better is if he can go stink up an NFC West opponents back field. Even with Alex Smith at QB I have no fear throwing at Spencer.

9er fans…Spencer had a decent run, but it’s over. The coaching staff obviously doesn’t think he can play, I will trust the guys that turned a 9 year in the skids franchise into a 13-3 almost won it all franchise.

Spence will be back in a Niners uniform next season at a substantially reduced rate – Why?
He is a very well known commodity that can still play (one of the very best whose initials are Larry Fitzgerald won’t be pleased to hear this). And 30 is not THAT old for a corner. The question may come down to is his work ethic to Harbaughs liking?

Carlos Rodgers has always been a decent cover corner and doesnt mind tackling, but you will never see him get picks like that again…even he doesnt know why all of a sudden he can catch.

I will tell you this though, dude knows how to dance. I can assure you he logged more hours dancing on the sidelines during offensive posessions for the Skins than he ever did working on his hands.

Those hands have been taught how to Dougie, just not catch.

Allowing him to seek a trade is a way to formally allow his agent to speak to other teams about a future contract while the 49ers replace him. They can’t just release him when they only have one other corner with starting experience under contract for next season.

As I Niners fan I’d actually rather see renegotiate his contract and come back. He was never a world beater, but was a serviceable starter. He would have played more this year had he been healthy. Our corner depth is not outstanding Culliver, Brock, etc. And given that Carlos Rodgers was a thousand times better than he ever had been before I would like to have some options in case that turns out to be a contract year anomaly.

Hopefully a lack of interest from other teams to pick up his current salary will convince him to take a pay cut to stay – although honestly I don’t think Harbaugh really wants him.

Since they’ll never pay him the bonus they’re not going to get anything in a trade. Maybe a 7th rounder just to avoid a bidding war. Unless they can find a fool.
