He’s been paid the full guaranteed money on his contract already in Arizona. A little over 20 million in the first year and a half or so.

I listened to the interview when it happened and subsequent clips after on KTAR. Rod Graves was FAR MORE firm about them sticking with Kolb during that interview as well as on prior to that one. If you listen to both, they know how much they’ve given up to get Kolb.

And Michael Bidwell said in an interview on that same station that “the football people and Coach Wiz put all of their faith in Kolb.” You could definitely tell he was saying that if the team gave up all that for Kolb and he didn’t work out, that Wiz, Graves, and others would be looking for a new job.

No way in hell are they giving up on Kolb and going after Manning. And this is coming from someone who wants them to get Manning at all costs if he’s even 90% healthy.

One year later, Graves admitted that he’s keeping his options open. That’s the sensible approach.

Nope. The sensible approach would be not giving sixty million dollars to guys like Matt Cassell and Kevin Kolb, who have proven nothing. We’ll see if the league’s learned anything when we see what Flynn gets in free agency. . .

Kolb was better than Skelton in just about every statistical category last year.

The main reason the Cardinals started winning down the stretch was the D stepped up its game.

QBs get too much credit when the team is winning often times. Kolb is by far a better player than Skelton is right now.

So…what Graves is saying is “maybe we’ll keep him. Maybe we won’t.” I’m also curious as to why Manning has any relevance in this article. Are we really going to see his name pop up in any article having to do with teams with QB questions?
