I don’t understand why they are wasting their time with this when they could just renovate the metrodome. It would be less expensive. Plus it’s not like the stadium is over 100 years old. I believe if you are going to build a stadium, build it right so that it can be used for 50+ years.

Wow I still don’t understand how the Vikes and gophers didn’t go in together and save a boat load. Not to mention the the the owners should put some into stadiums instead of expecting it all to come out of the taxpayers pocket !

Your state is broke. Your bridges are LITERALLY FALLING DOWN! You have subsidized and built a new stadium for the Twins and the Gophers in the last few years with no forethought given to possibly combining venues for dual purpose.

I still wouldn’t get my hopes up. I believe it when I see the bulldozers breaking ground on a new stadium. Until then, all this stadium talk and back and forth is meaningless. The longer this situation gets dragged out, the less incentive Wilf has to keep the team in Minnesota.

The biggest concern isn’t the legislature, but the Mpls City Council. Mike’s right, an agreement just means the insider powers that be have a deal, not the City Council or the legislature.
