Jimmy clausen could have thrown for 500 yards behind green bays O line. This game is not about 1 person being good its about a whole line.

You put Rodgers behind a crappy O line with no talented WRs and you will see that he is only complemented by the talent around him

Wowww, well I think your thinking of Of a different #12 cuz Rodgers has had anything but a Solid O-Line since he took over in Green Bay. Look at the Sack numbers. I couldn’t imagine how much better Rodgers would be with some more time back there. And I also believe that Rodgers makes his wide outs look alot better than they really are.

Reality Police: no mate , got no factual evidence, just one of the most knowledgable football gurus in the country with a hunch, that’s all. He made two solid starts in 4 years with a great surrounding core around him, he won’t have that same core elsewhere and will straight up bum out, you’ll see little guy.

if I remember correctly the coaches at Michigan were very high on Drew Henson at QB over Brady.

Michigan wanted the guy with all the psyical tools (Henson) over the guy who just won games (Brady). I saw an interview with belichick were he basically said if michigan didnt want him as their starter why would a team spend a high draft pick on him.

As a Browns fan, I would love to have him in Cleveland…but if he is throwing behind the same line, with the same receivers, and injury depleted running back corps…he would be the latest in a long line of QBs to come to Cleveland and wind up being unsuccessful. Until the front office does something to put playmakers on the field and hosses on the line (a la 2007), the offense will be lackluster at best.

Really? You really think they are letting Flynn go because they think he is meant to be a backup?

See Because I kind of thought it was due to the fact that he has the reigning MVP of the league playing in front of him.

And your examples stink. Jason Garrett was never considered to be starting material, even by Jason Garrett.

Matt Cassel got his well deserved shot after playing an entire season and going 11-5. And half the teams in the league would still trade their starter for him when he’s healthy.

Did I miss Sage Rosenfels 480 yards, 6 touchdown game? Or his national championship in college?

Kolb was extremely average in Philly- more int’s than td’s.

My point is that no one knows how good Flynn will be. But to automatically assume he’s a bust because others were is just silly.

If I recall that speculation came from one self-proclaimed internet hack. It was never a likelihood that the Packers would tag and trade him. No way would they risk guaranteeing almost 2x the salary of their starting QB on their backup QB.

If you think about it, Flynn has been a pro athlete for 3 years, comfortable with the routine and learning under NFL coaches an NFL offense, etc. Griffin, Luck, or whoever may be great, may be Ryan Leaf…You just don’t know for sure. Face it, there’s been many more Akili Smiths than Peyton Mannings. Which option carries less risk? Then ask which option has greater upside potential?? I’d take Flynn since it won’t cost any draft picks….

People are going crazy for one game. I would love this guy on my team as a backup, I wouldn’t pay him over 6 mill. Do people forget about him at LSU? In the SEC, he was the BIGGEST question mark on a championship team. With all his weapons he threw mid 50% with 21 TD to 11 INT. You guys are kidding yourself if you would pay this kid.

Flynn has a big advantage over anyone coming out of college. He’s been in the league for enough time to study a lot of different systems and game tapes, plus he sat behind and studied one of the NFL premier QBs. GB is very good at developing their QBs and just as Rodgers sat and studied Favre, Flynn sat and studied Rodgers. The man can play!

Bottom line. aint no points for second place so the teams that need qbs better get it right the first time or people will be out of work. flynn is the best gamble out there if the skins or hawks. the fins should hang with moore and pick up tannehill to develop under matt m for a couple years. tannehill is a good gamble too!

What factual evidence are you basing that on?

Just because their situations are somewhat similar in that they sat behind another QB and had to go to another city to be a starter?

Isn’t that what Matt Schaub did? In fact, isn’t that what Brett Favre did?

Did I miss the part where Flynn had more int’s than touchdowns, like Kolb did in Philly? Or the part where Flynn was handed the starting job, looked terrible in the first game of the season, then got a concussion and never got off the bench again (except when Vick got hurt)?
