The Broncos were NOT the same team. Elvis Dumervil was healthy for most of Tebow’s run and was out during Orton’s time.

Think that didn’t make a difference? Hmpf. When you see the stats, the Broncos D gave up fewer points during Tebow’s stint AND the O scored just under one point less per game than they did under Orton.

I’m not saying Orton is some god. He’s not. Tebow got lucky while his defense played much better. That’s why Dennis Allen is coaching da raidiizzzz.

According to the peanut gallery here, Tebow sucks, but Orton is a good quarterback.

Last year you had them both quarterback the exact same team. There can be no better comparison. Look at the results.

OAK would love to keep Campbell as a backup, but he wants to be a starter somewhere and the money that goes with it. He’s started enough games in the NFL to deserve at least one more shot as a starting QB. He might be the next Brad Johnson or Rex Grossman; a forgotten QB who goes to the Super Bowl.

Carson Palmer is good enough to do what the Raiders need him to do. There are only a handful of elite QBs in the league and that’s by definition. After that group, you’re going to need much more of a team effort to win a championship anyway so let’s not slag those other QBs for not being Brees, Brady or Rodgers.

If your team’s QB is good enough there are plenty of templates to follow for a championship. PIT and NYG have shown how to build a winner with consistency at QB even if Big Ben and Eli aren’t elite.
