In Orton's 1st year with the Broncos he had the 6th rank defense, a running game that averaged 4.2 yards a carry, Brandon Marshall as his wr and he still could not deliver in the 4th quarter.
I think you put Orton with some good receivers and he will put up some numbers. He and Brandon Lloyd were an excellent combination but beyond Lloyd there was no other WR on the team close.

I do agree that DNV defense did carry them during the Tebow era this year as well

In the 3 full games Orton played for the Chiefs he did a very decent job. I think he can be a starter for quite a few teams out there. I wonder if the Chiefs can get any compensation for him??

I hate to see orton continue to get the shaft. The guy has shown that he can be a solid qb withy the right talent around him. Plenty of teams should be looking at him. Why is one Flynn filler game a sign that he is the next god? That is beyond stupid

Dear Wizard,

The Broncos were NOT the same team. Elvis Dumervil was healthy for most of Tebow's run and was out during Orton's time.

Think that didn't make a difference? Hmpf. When you see the stats, the Broncos D gave up fewer points during Tebow's stint AND the O scored just under one point less per game than they did under Orton.

I'm not saying Orton is some god. He's not. Tebow got lucky while his defense played much better. That's why Dennis Allen is coaching da raidiizzzz.

According to the peanut gallery here, Tebow sucks, but Orton is a good quarterback.

Last year you had them both quarterback the exact same team. There can be no better comparison. Look at the results.

I watched every game Jason Campbell played as a Redskin. He would be a really good quarterback, but his deep ball is too flat. If he could learn to put a little more loft under it, receivers could adjust to his throws. That is the only thing holding him back.

....We’d argue that two players — Kyle Orton and Jason Campbell — would be better options than Flynn all money considered....

Just because he only has two starts? Compared to Jason and Orton, both career backups, at best?

It must be real slow right now, because that was some major crock you're spewing right now.

If I was the GM of the Redskins, Seahawks, Browns, Fins and a few others, I'd go all in on Flynn and the second choice would be moving up in the draft (if I had to, to get any of the top 3 or even 4 QB's) before coughing up a penny for either of those options.

Brady Quinn is going to be a major steal this year. The kid’s mechanics are good, and he has finally had the benefit of some decent coaching the past couple of years. Oh, and Orton with the Skins would probably tear it up too.

Gotta be the first time "decent coaching" has been mentioned in the same sentence when talking about anything from the McDaniels era in Denver. The last year maybe OK as Fox and his staff seem to know their butt from a hole in the ground, but before that-you gotta be kidding.

"Never overlook the very real possibility of Reggie McKenzie and Dennis Allen opting to retain Campbell and trading Carson Palmer. "

dafixisin, that is a ridiculous opening statement and the rest of your comment is as tortured as a typical contribution from one of the regularly employed wordsmiths on this very site you're reading right now, pun intended.

OAK would love to keep Campbell as a backup, but he wants to be a starter somewhere and the money that goes with it. He's started enough games in the NFL to deserve at least one more shot as a starting QB. He might be the next Brad Johnson or Rex Grossman; a forgotten QB who goes to the Super Bowl.

Carson Palmer is good enough to do what the Raiders need him to do. There are only a handful of elite QBs in the league and that's by definition. After that group, you're going to need much more of a team effort to win a championship anyway so let's not slag those other QBs for not being Brees, Brady or Rodgers.

If your team's QB is good enough there are plenty of templates to follow for a championship. PIT and NYG have shown how to build a winner with consistency at QB even if Big Ben and Eli aren't elite.

“Never overlook the very real possibility of Reggie McKenzie and Dennis Allen opting to retain Campbell and trading Carson Palmer. ”

dafixisin, that is a ridiculous opening statement and the rest of your comment is as tortured as a typical contribution from one of the regularly employed wordsmiths on this very site you’re reading right now, pun intended.

OAK would love to keep Campbell as a backup, but he wants to be a starter somewhere and the money that goes with it. He’s started enough games in the NFL to deserve at least one more shot as a starting QB. He might be the next Brad Johnson or Rex Grossman; a forgotten QB who goes to the Super Bowl.

“After Orton and Campbell, there are some wild cards. Chad Henne, Vince Young, Josh Johnson, and David Garrard should all get work.”

What, EXACTLY, about Vince Young’s performance this year tells you he should be working in the NFL next year?

Um hello! Dream Team; were you not paying attention when they went to playoffs and beat...Oh wait a minute...

I completely agree with you; he is a bum and I would take just about any of the Qb's mentioned here over the Pride of UT aka Mr. Wonderlic! Quinn is the exception though as his best days were are ND...

Ortons play in 2009/2010 was borderline top ten and hes never had the type of weapons that some of the top ten Qbs have had. I think he can easily be a top ten Qb with the the weapons the Chiefs have.

bring back Bowe, a healthy Moeki and Charles, Mcluster on 3rd down . Now of course hes not top 5 but he could easily be in the top ten the guy can throw the rock

How about Dennis Dixon he has great potential and would be a great fit for Washington and especially for San Fran, Jason Campbell is a Super Bowl Quarterback , Qb can’t give you a super bowl without a great team, Joe Montana and Jerry Rice, Roger Grieg and Fred Dean etc etc…, Terry Bradshaw with guys like Mean Joe Green, John Stallworth, Franco Harris, shall I say more, Jamarkus Russell can be a great qb still but also Kyle Orton is a backup at best period end of story, Now David Garrard on the other hand a lot like Jason Campbell bad teams and who drafted Jason Campbell a guy by the name of Joe Gibbs remember Joe Thiesman, Doug Williams and the Rypein I think he has a pretty good history of knowing qbs better than some of the jerks that are making decisions today. With guys like Alex Smith as starters give me a break the guy has had more opportunities to be a great player and has blown them every time he even when he does average he sucks he leaves to many plays undone. Jason and David and Dennis, Brady Quinn and Vince Young are great leaders and have earned their way into a starting roll something that needs to be explained to some of these so-called experts in the NFL.

That’s My Opinion

Campbell will end up in Washington.

Quinn needs to go backstage so the viewer audience doesn't see him cry when he isn't drafted, I mean signed right away.
