If you’re talking about Routt, you’re talking about raiding the Raiders’ trash can. If you want to do better than 1-6 against winning clubs, you will need to do better than Routt.

Analyst, NFL pundits and the media have said this for the last decade. But tell me, when (if ever) was the last time the Raiders were so cashed strapped against the cap they couldn’t sign the guys they truly wanted?

Oakland, despite all their faults record and standings wise, have been very good handling the cap situation.

It was only a year ago when the Raiders were “strapped”. But, Al Davis was still able to give Richard Seymour, Kamerion Wimbley and Stanford Routt big-time money.

Dating back to when Bruce Allen was the de-facto GM negotiating contracts to Mike Lombardi to Al Davis, Oakland gets the players they want, no matter the cost.

Routte was highly overrated and highly overpaid. There will be a huge difference between the $11mil he was expecting from Oakland and the total amount for the 3-5 years on his next contract.

Out of respect for an NFL icon the late Al Davis R.I.P. who had faith in him and paid him millions of dollars it would seem appropriate that he would pursue a restructured contract with the Raiders. Especially after he earned the title of ‘most penalized player’ in the NFL. Instead, he’s supposedly close to picking where he will play in 2012. Get Real!

So let’s get this straight…the Eagles are already talking/hinting at getting rid of Asante Samuel because they have a GLUT of CBs (read the article quoting Joe Banner), yet you are convinced that they are going to start Free Agency off by signing another CB?

Dynasty, Oakland is WAY over the cap for next year. Not that Routt is a top talent by any means but some good players are gonna get the axe there because their salaries are just to heavy for Oakland to carry. Michael Huff, Tyvon Branch, Michael Bush, Rolando McClain, Richard Seymour, Tommy Kelly could all be on different rosters by the end of training camp.
